The Unselected Journals of Emma M Lion
My friend Jeni told me about these books back in the Spring (maybe even before then) and she always has great recommendations so I immediately ordered. Then I was plagued by what I'm typically hit with during the school year - reading like 3 pages and then falling asleep and having zero memory of what I read. IT'S BRUTAL! I read the first one but couldn't have told you much about it so this summer I decided to reread it and enjoyed it SO MUCH MORE! I've read the first three volumes and they just keep getting better. I love that it's journal entry format and I love the quirky characters. The books are witty and endearing and you really do feel like you're reading actual journals. They're LOVELY!

The Inmate
I finishsed The Inmate in one day and LOVED IT! I'm a big Freida McFadden fan and I feel like this one was one of my favorites. I honestly kind of rolled my eyes in the first third of the book thinking I had it all figured out. Then I thought the book was over and realized that there was still an hour left and realized I KNEW NOTHING! It was told in past and present POV which is my favorite way to have little bits of info and details revealed and while I found Brooke, the main character, to be pretty naive at times I didn't find her unlikable. Overall if you like a fast-paced thriller this is a great one AND THE EPILOGUE!!!

Bridesmaid Undercover
This one was just "meh" for me - but honestly, it's because spicy books just aren't my favorite. I mentioned this when I reviewed the first Bridesmaid book that when audible runs a sale I tend to just grab things that catch my eye and hope for the best without doing any research. hahaha THIS BOOK WAS SPICY!!! SO BE WARNED! While I loved the friends-to-lovers vibe and the banter was cute the "romantic scenes" were A LOT. hahahaha Also - I listened on audible and did not like the female narrator which is wild because I don't think I've ever even noted a narrator before. All that to say... if you're into spicy books with cute characters and lots of funny parts this is for you!

Mad Mabel
I LOVE Sally Hepworth and this was another great character-driven book. Mabel is hard to figure out at first, but that’s what makes her so interesting. As her story unfolds, you start to understand the pain, strength, and complexity behind the “mad” label.
This one is definitely more about the characters than big twists, but there’s still enough mystery to keep you turning the pages. The relationships are messy and complicated, and Hepworth does such a great job writing flawed characters who feel real. Not super twisty, but I really enjoyed how it all came together!
