Well... we had a good run. Everyone has been happy and healthy for the first 12 weeks of school, but last Friday Luke ran a fever and so I stayed home with him and it pretty much went downhill from there. I started not feeling great on Sunday afternoon and by 7 pm on Sunday night I was running a fever close to 103 and it didn't let up until Tuesday morning. It's been rough. All that to say, the only thing worse than having to get a sub for a planned absence is coming back after having an emergency sub. My plans were scattered and haphazard (and non-existent on Monday thanks to a raging fever) and the sub was fabulous - but now I'm having to pick up the pieces, grade a TON and rework my lesson plans for the next few days before Thanksgiving break after being out for three days.
I had a couple of blog things scheduled out (hence Monday and Wednesday's posts) but tonight (Wednesday) just couldn't make the time for anything more than this :) What I did make the time for was sitting at the table with my family for dinner, playing several rounds of Skip-Bo, helping Griffin finish her "turkey in disguise" project, spending extra time snuggling at bedtime and catching up on school work by the fire.
I hope that y'all are having a wonderful week and making the most of the cozy evening hours. I'll definitely be back for Friday Favorites tomorrow and can't tell y'all how much I appreciate all the sweet comments and emails checking up on me and my family! Y'all are the best!
Speaking of being the best - I finally got my comment section fixed, so if you wanted to leave a comment on yesterdays post and couldn't I'd love for you to do that today!
Happy Thursday, friends!!!

ReplyDeleteWhen I taught, I always hated the coming back part. PS funny story one time I was SO sick that my hubby drove me, I basically crawled to my desk and prayed I would not need a restroom. I literally was sweating for fear it might come out one end or the other and I didn't want to have to text the janitor ;). I hope you enjoy your weekend :) xoxo ERIN
