Well, the first day of school has come and gone and I can't believe it! We kept the pomp and circumstance to a minimum in the morning, but I did insist on a few pictures of the boys in their sweet little uniforms.
I'm not sure a private school uniform has ever looked cuter. Ever.
And this boy gets handsomer by the minute. :)
By this point they were itching to get going and I was pushing my luck with pictures.
So they threw some sweetness my way and then ran for the van :)
And when they got there, sister bear was staging a hostile takeover. "I GO! I GO! I GO!" After Griffin was forcibly removed from the van, we headed to school.
Think they're a little bit excited??? ;)

Luke has Mrs. McKellar and we already love her ;)
And Mason has Mrs. Anderson - who is so so so sweet!!!
After walking them to class, I headed back to my classroom and worked through my "intro class" with six periods of middle schoolers. Meanwhile, Griffin recovered from not being allowed to go to school with her brothers and was all smiles in her apple dress for daddy ;)
We all had a half day and I got to pick him up from his class. Look at that smile!!! We stopped by to get Luke, but he opted to stay with the other first graders who were headed to ESS.
Luke ate at ESS, but Mason ate with me and he told me all about the playground and his friends while pounding back some yogurt ;)
After lunch I dropped him off at ESS so I could work for the rest of the afternoon and snapped a picture in the bathroom to commemorate the worst first day of school outfit choice of all time. I was up early and had several cups of tea before leaving the house, then a Starbucks tea.... and didn't think about having to get OUT of the jumpsuit every time I had to use the bathroom. hahaha #firstdayfail
I got a lot of work done and then at 4:00 the boys and I headed out, picked up Griffin and went home to look through their folders. This piece of Luke's work is definitely going in his "keep" box.
Mason brought home some equally impressive work ;) hehehehe
Our first day was so fun, but sooooooooo exhausting. Mason actually fell asleep on the way home from school and is still asleep as I'm typing this (about 9:00 p.m.). We attempted to wake him up for dinner, but it was useless. Poor little man! I'm about to hit publish and then hit the sack as well.
Thank you all for your sweet first day well wishes on Instagram yesterday... y'all are so sweet!!!
Happy Thursday, friends!
Mason looks absolutely adorable! Glad the first day was a success!!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Kimm! He can rock a uniform!
DeleteYour first-day pictures have me excited for my first day. My little guy, who reminds me a lot of Mason, starts K this year and will wear a uniform for the first time. I know I'm going to cry! Hope you had a good night's rest :)
ReplyDeleteSo exciting!!! The unifmorms make them look so big! Best of luck to y'all!

ReplyDeleteCan you post about what you do in your classroom the first few days?
Thanks, Jen! I'm planning on bringing back Teacher Tuesday and will definitely post about that. ;)

DeleteYay for a great first day!! I texted you but you might have already been out. Haha!
ReplyDeleteSo exciting!! Congrats on a first day!!
ReplyDeleteWhat an exciting day! I can't wait for my kids first day:-) On side note, you should check out 3 compartment containers on Amazon for school lunches. No more smooshed sandwiches at lunch anymore (not that Mason's sandwich was smashed!). They are genius!
ReplyDeleteSo glad you all had a great first day! You all probably slept really well last night!;)
ReplyDeleteLove this first day of school, post. Love your hashtags about waiting for mom and wearing wedges. It looks like a great day was had by all. Poor Mason, wiped out after a hard day of play and making friends.
ReplyDeleteI feel for you about when your cute outfit gets in the way of REALLY having to go to the bathroom. Mine was the maxi skirt with lots of fabric that I couldn't gather up fast enough.
Thinking of you...
Mason's cheesy grins are my favorite pictures!
ReplyDeleteThat Mason in his little uniform! Just too cute!! Hope you and your boys have the best year!
ReplyDeleteDon't you love this age - when the excitement of going to school is still there! My kids both bounced out of bed they were so excited!
