I've been looking forward to today because I LOVE getting a little peek into people's homes.
Welcome!!! It's nap time and Jack Bauer says, "come on in!"
Our house was built in 1992 and originally these were the designated formal living and dining room areas.
This "free space" is kind of our playroom. The bench is full of duplo blocks and the kids often like to play here.
This dresser is the only remaining piece of the original nursery suite we bought when I was pregnant with Luke. At some point I'd love to paint it distressed white and add better hardware.
I feel like our paint color can look really bright in some pictures, but below is pretty close to the real color. The previous owners had the walls textured and painted before we moved in (we're fairly certain that the rooms had been wallpapered previously) and the whole area (kitchen included) was a peachy color.
The "Love you Forever" sign is from Vine and Branches and it's everything ;)
My exact pillow I think I picked up on GroopDealz, but this one is by the same vendor (and comes with the insert)
I've mentioned Sid Dickens before - I started collecting them when I worked at a shop on the square that sold them. I would work a Saturday/Sunday and spend my entire check on Sid Dickens and Free People :) hahaha
The wicker tray I've had for years (I'm pretty sure it was a thrift store find).
The rug is Pottery Barn and the large sign is a custom piece that Vine and Branches made using the lyrics of one of our favorite songs.
This area used to be a wet bar (with shutters), but now it's more of a little landing pad and desk area.
During the day if I'm planning or writing thank you notes or other things like that, I'll work here while the kids play instead of in the office.
This is the hallway off of the family room - the hallways that we jokingly call our "family hall of fame" because it's where I hang our family canvas every Spring and Fall.
And a peek into our laundry room (pic is from this post last fall)

The boys bedroom is one of my favorite rooms...
I recently put together Griffin's big girl room and blogged the details HERE.
The next two pics are from last Spring I think...

and it looks great decorated for Christmas as well :)
And Halloween too :)
Our office connects to our master bedroom and is a cozy spot full of photos and mementos. It's one of my favorite spaces.
I recently gave it a light and bright mini makeover that you can read about HERE.
The view looking into our bedroom from the office and then into the office from the bedroom.
Our bedroom opens out into a little hall that connects to the kitchen. The most recent pic I have of it is from Fourth of July. But this is what it usually looks like (sans the giant flag). Kids at the table, junk on the counters and lots of "busyness". In the original design this was the family room, but we switched out light fixtures and made this a large dining area.
The next two pics are from last Spring I think...

The dining area now houses our kids table.
And that's it! We've lived in our house for a little over 6 years and have loved making it warm and inviting. We have plans to change up a few things in the coming years, but nothing major is in the works right now.
Now link up to lots of pictures so I can be super nosey and peek into your homes :)

DeleteLove your home Andrea! Do you know where you got your canvases in your hallway from? And do you know what size they are? Thanks so much!
ReplyDeleteThey're from Canvas People and they're all 16x20
DeleteYour house is so cute! For some reason I can't see the link ups. Maybe it's user error (me, haha).
ReplyDeleteIf I'm on my phone I can't see them sometimes either. I have to click on "an in linkz link up" at the very bottom of her blog post and then it shows the link ups!
Deletehey, girls! I create the codes the same way every time and sometimes the thumbnails show up on the bottom and sometimes you have to click on the "Inlinkz Link Up Here" link. It's so weird and I can't figure out why it does it differently. hahaha #bloggerfail
DeleteLol! Thanks for responding, Andrea!! I honestly thought it was just my phone doing that :)
DeleteI love your home! It's so cozy!

DeleteI love that your office is right off your bedroom...the perfect place to hide out! And the brick wall in your kitchen is everything - love!
ReplyDeleteIt works really well for us because if Dave is watching TV in bed and I'm working we can still talk and such. And thank you!!! We love the brick wall and we crack up because when our realtor showed us the house she prefaced it with, "now.... don't worry about the Italian restaurant brick wall... that can be changed" :) hahaha
DeleteBeautiful home! I agree with the others, you do such a good job of making the space work for your family & make it unique to your style. Love!
