What's Up Wednesday

Today I'm linking up with  Shay and  Sheaffer to talk a little bit about what's been going on around here! I missed out on this last week when I was in DDC with Luke, but wanted to share anyway ;)

What feels like anything and everything ;) We've been iced in at home since Saturday and this cold not be more true!

WHO HERE REMEMBERS MR RON?!?!?! When Luke was in Pre-K and Kinder we used to go to the same Starbucks literally every morning and we met the KINDEST man, Mr.Ron. This was pre-mobile ordering so I would have to wait in line (and it was a busy Starbucks) and Luke and Mr. Ron struck up a friendship and he'd hang with him while I waited in line and was just the SWEETEST. We saw Mr. Ron daily, Luke would bring him pictures he colored, and Mr. Ron gave Luke legos for Christmas.

We lost touch over a summer and I think that was when that particular Starbucks location closed.  All that to say - these memories popped up on my feed this week and we reminisced about Mr. Ron and I am SO HOPEFUL that one day we'll somehow be able to track him down and treat him to a Starbucks ;)

PUZZLES!!! It's no secret that I'm a puzzle-holic and all of this extra time this week has given me the opportunity to CHILL OUT with an audiobook and a puzzle and it's been GLORIOUS!

Pretty much this...

... it has been SO COLD and so we've been hunkered down and LOVING IT ;)

While I've loved being at home with my kids I am DREADING re-entry because, let's be real... all my lesson plans are completely messed up on timing now. UGH!!! I meticulously planned stuff out through Spring Break and now have to pivot #allthethings.  SIGH.

Summer plans! I've been working on our summer trip this year and had several plans in the works when my kids all said they REALLY want to head back to Washington state. We had THE BEST PNW trip back in 2024 so I'm kind of excited to head back that way (most likely).

This weekend is Winter Formal and I can't wait to see my boys all dressed up! I feel like it's important that we all remember Luke's gold light up shoes from last year ;) hahahaha. He is not repeating those this year but they WERE a good time.

We binge watched Season 2 of Traitors and are currently watching Season 3. WE LOVE THIS SHOW! I will say that season 3 has WAY MORE language than season 2. Like an excessive amount of f-words. We watch with our kids and it's almost a running joke at this point - but keep that in mind if you want to watch with your family. It's frustrating because I woudl 10000% recommend the show as an awesome family show minus that!

THIS!!!

This sweatshirt on repeat. Still. It's pricey but when I tell y'all I wear it constantly.

ALL THE ERRANDS ;) hahaha After being stuck here for 4+ days I'm ready for some dilly dallying!

Valentine's Day and my annual trip to Big Bend! I can't believe it's almost here!

My parents gave us this game for Christmas and we've played it CONSTANTLY! It's fun with a crowd and brings lots of laughs.

HAPPY Wednesday, friends! I hope y'all are staying safe and warm and enjoying extra family time this week ;)

  1. Wow! I can't believe how bad the weather was for you guys. It wasn't as bad here in GA, as they predicted. We only had 1 day off. However, yesterday, it was so cold, we had 60 buses that could not travel their normal routes because of frozen doors among other things. Stay warm and cozy while you can!

  5. Hi Andrea, long time reader, never commented before though. We live in WA, close to the OR and ID border. If you’re heading back this way, I would recommend either OR, MT, or ID this time for your visit! North ID (Couer d’ Alene or Hayden area) is gorgeous!!! It’s become quite the travel destination for those from the south. Bend/Sun River in OR is gorgeous as well. Florence, OR has sand dunes that you won’t find anywhere else in the country. You can rent sand buggies which your kids might really enjoy. Otherwise everywhere in MT is gorgeous!
