Friday Favorites - Tips for Shopping on eBay Edition

Happy Friday, friends!

Erika Narci and I are all sharing our FAVORITES from the week and we'd love it if you'd join us!  Just link back to one (or all!) of us, grab our graphic and link up at the bottom of the post.

Today I'm kicking off Friday Favorites by sharing some of my FAVORITE finds from  eBay as well as a few tips for shopping eBay. eBay has come a LONG way since I used it to buy a digital camera in college and it's become so easy to shop.  My favorite feature is the "buy it now" button as I have never loved having to watch an auction for several days.  Now I can browse at my leisure, add things to my cart, checkout and items ship (typically) that same day.  It's awesome.

My tips for shopping  eBay are to know your brands and be as specific as possible when searching.  There are so many items for sale that simply searching "Free People Sweater" can bring up way too many options to sift through so instead I'll search the brand, style name and size of an item that I know I like.  For example, I searched "Free People Echo sweater size small" and found one of my very favorite pullovers in pretty much new condition for a great price.

(If you're unsure of what style name you're looking for try searching Pinterest for things like "Free People oversize turtleneck" and then jotting down the names of items that pop up that you like)

I used the exact same method when searching for Fall clogs... "Sandgrens clogs size 38" (I've found Sandgrens to run small) and when I saw searching I found these two beauties in new and pretty much new condition.  SO EXCITING!

Being familiar with the brands and styles that I love makes searching super simple and allows me to purchase things that aren't necessarily available at the original retailer anymore OR are way less than they are at the store.

Here are a few items I've been searching for lately...

I use this same method when looking for home items.  Dave and I have had  our silverware set since before we got married and we still adore it.  The only problem we have is that when we entertain we often need more than a service for 8.  I've been keeping my eyes peeled for additional sets and found 8 place settings (40 pieces!) for under $90.  A brand new service for 4 retails for $90 so I felt like this was a total steal and they look brand new!

There are always so many great home deals to be had on eBay... here are a few things I'm eyeing :)

You can also check out eBay's crash sales HERE... it's name brand appliances and more for 50% off (or more!) of retail and all with free shipping!

Next on my list of FAVORITES was our trip to Play Street Museum this week for their detectives event.

They had the cutest mystery set up where the crickets had been stolen from the cricket jar and the kids had to solve a series of clues to figure out who may have taken the crickets.

There wer fingerprints...

... costumes...

... a typewriter...

... and magnifying glasses :)

They solved the mystery and it turned out that Lizzy the bearded dragon was the one who stole the crickets :)

My nephew, Davis, turned two this week and we celebrated him over the weekend.  Our FAVORITE two-year-old! :)

Other FAVORITES from the week has been some evening driveway chalk time...

... pool and ice cream...

... and fishing.

Happy Friday, friends!!!

  5. I'm an avid eBay shopper (& seller) as well! I completely agree with being specific. When I get onto other sites (cough, cough) and can't search as thoroughly, I get frustrated!
