Friday Favorites

Happy Friday, friends!  I'm off with Luke at Math Olympics today (as a mom of a participant and teacher sponsor) and my first FAVORITE is getting a front row seat to seeing these awesome kids get to participate and use their talents.

If you're sharing your own list of FAVORITES this week make sure you link up with ErikaNarci, me or all of us... then grab our graphic and add it to your post.

This week has been COLD and super rainy and one of my FAVORITE times of the day has been when I turn the fire on and these three gather around to warm up and they have the funniest conversations.

Griffin has been drawing these unicorn/pandas for the past couple of weeks.  This little phase has been a FAVORITE.

I get asked sometimes about "date nights" with Dave's kind of unique work schedule and well... here's what one looked like earlier this week.  Getting the kids fed, bathed and in bed and then getting nachos to share in peace and quiet :)

I had picked up  these z brick sets on Zulily a while ago to put away for Easter baskets but after seeing the Lego Movie 2 I got them out and the kids have been playing with them NON-STOP!  They're bricks that connect regular Legos to Zoob building pieces... which has led to a TON of creative play.  We're big fans of Zoob

I've had a lot going on at work this week (all good things - just a LOT of things) and have been working pretty much until 6 pm every night this week.  Our after school program is my FAVORITE because while I'm working I can look out my window and see my kids playing, running around and having the best time and it alleviates my  mom-guilt.

I saw this earlier this week and laughed so hard!

I recently started using  this blow dryer/styler and am OBSESSED!  I am NOT good with a round brush and it would always take me about 25 minutes to get my hair dry with a blow dryer and then at least another 10 to flat iron it all.  I'd heard rave reviews about this dryer and decided to give it a try and it did not disappoint... I can dry my hair in less time than with  a regular dryer and when I'm done there's no flat iron necessary because my hair is so smooth!  I kid you not... it's awesome.  I've been using it for a couple of weeks and am still blown away by it every time I use it.  I also use it on Griffin's hair (I let hers air dry for about 30 minutes and then finish with this) and her hair has never looked better.  Seriously love it.

This isn't the best picture - but this was after drying my hair with it... so smooth and pretty and no flat ironing needed!

We had a taste of Spring last week and then I started getting emails about swimsuits and as much as I'm not ready for the heat I did get excited looking at all the spring things :)  Here are a few of my girl favorites right now...

My Pre-Algebra classes had a big test this week and I had this on the board for them when they came in :)  It's OBVIOUSLY a joke and we all had a good laugh about it and eased some of the anxiety before they started.

Last, but not least - this lounging kitty and her "tiger stripes" as the kids have called them are my FAVORITE...

I hope that y'all have a great weekend!!!

  6. I love that sweet little drawling of Griffin's. I love being able to see my kids during recess, lunch, or when they run into my classroom because they forgot something. Working at their school has some major perks! Those nachos!

Do you think the blow dryer/styler will work well for my very thick, shoulder length straight hair?

  11. Haha! Teaching Algebra to my oldest I can relate to that board... only some days I feel like it might apply more to me than to him.
