What's Up Wednesday

I say this every month but HOW is it the last Wednesday of March ALREADY?!?!?  Birthday month is upon us and I don't feel prepared AT ALL!

Needless to say, I'm excited to be linking up with Shay, Sheaffer and Mel this month for What's Up Wednesday and sharing a bit about what's been going on around here.

Nothing super exciting is happening with our menu this week.  We have a LOT going on during the evenings this week and I am SO GLAD I have a few things prepped and frozen for weeks just like this.  This chicken pot pie has been an absolute lifesaver so far this week and I have spaghetti sauce thawing for tomorrow as I'm typing this...

This picture came up on my "on this day" app this week and it has me reminiscing about three-year-old Griffin and how much she looked like three-year-old me :)

I've mentioned before that I'm super particular when it comes to flip flops.  I don't love a heel, they have to have a skinny strap and they need to look nice enough to wear with a dress at school (our staff dress code is super relaxed which is AMAZING!).  Well...  I found a pair that meets all my requirements and they're $10 at TARGET!  (And yes... I recently declared my disdain for Target and I feel like since then they've stepped up their game and I've found tons of things there that I love.  I'm giving it a bit more time but I may end up eating my words) :)

We've been busy busy with school activities (I'm working on planning the 7th/8th grade semi-formal and am going on a trip for a few days with my 8th graders), sports and everything in between but we've been making a point this week especially to be talking every day about Easter and what that looks like and means.  I'm so grateful that the kids are learning about it not just at home and church but at school as well - such a blessing.  Something that we've been using at home that is such a great tool for kids are  Resurrection Eggs.

There's a book that you read through and each page corresponds with an egg color and as you read that page the kids open the corresponding egg and there's a little object inside that ties in with that part of the story.

We love that it's hands on and gives some tangibles that the kids can touch and feel.

I'm not working on this, but Griffin has been working on her decorated egg carton and it's fabulous if I say so myself :)

We have a four-day weekend this week and I CAN'T WAIT!!!

It's been pretty busy around here in the evenings so I haven't been reading as much as I'd like - but Dave and I are still working our way through an Office episode each night while we fold laundry and even though we've watched the whole series through several times it just gets more and more funny!  And when I saw this last week I almost spit out my drink I was laughing so hard!

The video is about the cheesiest thing of all time but the song has been on repeat and I'm shameless enough to admit that I love it :)

It's that weird time of the year where my wardrobe ranges from dresses with clogs to pants and a sweater.  It's really all over the place.  Here are a few of the pieces I've been loving and wearing a LOT lately...

Celebrating Easter and Luke's TENTH birthday!  Y'all.... I can't even begin to wrap my brain around the fact that my baby is going to be TEN!

All the parties!!!  Luke's party is this coming Monday, our Family Fiesta is the weekend after that, Mason's is the following weekend and Griffin's is the week after THAT.  I'm excited but also already tired :)

And just for fun you can click  HERE for a post highlighting some of the kids past birthday parties.

I have a new favorite from Trader Joe's...

my Oma always used to keep speculoos cookies around and I LOVE them so much!  They're kind of like a ginger snap without so much snap if that makes sense :)  They're the best!

Happy Wednesday, friends!!!

  8. I burst out laughing over that Toby ruins everything. I'm late to The Office, but everytime Toby's face is on the screen, I start laughing.
