Amazon Lately

Erika did a post highlighting some of her recent Amazon purchases and I loved the post so much I decided to share mine as well.  If you follow my Instagram stories you may be surprised that I'm sharing things from Amazon because GIIIIIRL was the service a.w.f.u.l. there for a bit.  But my last few orders have arrived on time and in tact so whatever was going on seems to have been corrected #allthepraisehands  And THANK GOODNESS because Heaven forbid I have to run to the store after work.

First up from the past couple of weeks are  sea bands.  Griffin gets MAJORLY motion sick and we've had to pull over many times for her to get fresh air and/or lose her lunch on the side of the road.  She can't even do the swings without getting nauseous - poor baby.

They're about $6/pair and are just little bands with almost like a marble in them that you put on a pressure point on their wrists.  It works like a charm for her and so I stocked up a couple of extra pairs since I knew we were going to be in the car a lot this week.

The next item is SUPER random, but it's pepper spray.  I started buying pepper spray last year after a weird situation when Griffin and I were out and about (police ended up being called and everything was fine - but I sat in my car after and ordered this for my keys).   It's only $10, can clip onto and off of my keys easily and can spray a stream 10 feet 25 times.  Told you it was random :)

PS - it has a "lock" on it and I've shown it to my kids and explained why they don't ever touch it.  I showed them how it sprays to satisfy any curiosity that they may have had and they've honestly never said anything after that.

Next are  these DK Smithsonian books.  I've said multiple times that I'm a total sucker for buying books and these completely sold me.  I'm going to blame this on my parents for always having encyclopedias, National Geographics and other random reference books around our house growing up.

They're large and have SO MUCH information and the pictures/illustrations are amazing.

I can't say enough great things about these!  WE LOVE THEM!

I mentioned  these kites in my post on Monday - they're simple and durable and would be a great Easter basket idea.

I grabbed  these packing bags for our road trip and have already ordered another set to have for summer.  Why haven't I bought them before now??? I packed them by "day" and it worked GREAT!  I'll share more pics later :)

We ran out of hand soap last week and I ordered  this set and LOOOVE the scent.  It's all natural and has great ratings and so far it hasn't dried out our hands.

These curtains were a BARGAIN and way better quality than I anticipated.  I ordered 6 panels for our bedroom and after a good steam they were PERFECT!

This chalk is on sale for $6 and so I grabbed a couple of boxes to put in Easter baskets and stock up for summer.

And  these eye makeup remover pads are the BEST and are on my Amazon monthly subscription

I'd love to know what you've picked up from Amazon lately! Leave me a comment and let me know :)

  1. Hi Andrea.
Can you do a post on how you shop online? For both clothing items as well as the things in this post. If you shop for clothing, do you shop by brand/color etc.
You always have the best finds and sometimes all the stuff online is.just.too.much. Haha!

  2. Yes packing cubes!! Lifesavers! My husband and I went to Paris for a quick long weekend and that included a Jimmy Buffett concert (total parotids here!), sightseeing, mass at Notre Dame and I ran a half marathon at Disneyland Paris too. We fit alllllll of our clothes (and shoes) in a carryon suitcase and large duffle, and our nicer clothes were not wrinkled! Game changer!!!

  3. Hope you have a fantastic spring break!! I love packing cubes, but even better are compression packing cubes. They have double zippers and kind of work like a space bag, where sweaters and jeans smoosh down to half the size.

  4. I recently discovered Burt's Bees make up remover pads for sensitive skin--AMAZING!!! I hate the little towelette's you pull out and they almost appear soapy or too much solution. Not Burt's Bees, these towel cleaner things (technical term I am sure... ;) are not wet wet at all, are so soft and do a great job! I am not a rep for Burt's Bee's, I just love to share good products! Happy Tuesday :)

  11. My oldest son has gotten motion/car sick as well since he was about 2. We tried the sea bands and it seemed to work some. But, we have resorted to giving him kids dramamine for trips longer than an hour. For anything below an hour I ordered these and they work great!!

  12. I had problems with an Amazon order recently as well. Their customer service dept did a great job at making things right. LOVE those books! So cool! I'm thinking I need to order that pepper spray for all the women in my family. Thanks for sharing!

  13. As a girl who STRUGGLES with severe motion sickness, I feel for Griffin. I've used the wristbands and the electric current watch Relief Band (super helpful, but maybe too much for kids). I also find adding Bragg's ACV & honey into my water on a regular basis helps balance my gut and significantly reduces the speed which motion sickness hits. Another silly trick, wear an eye patch or cover one eye. When you only see through one eye, your inner ear doesn't have to fight as much and it can help. Just in case you are traveling and don't have the bands. :)

  14. Now I'm crazy curious about your situation with the pepper spray! That Inspired Chick

  15. I'm definitely checking out those motion sickness bands because I am right there with Griffin...bless it. Those Nat Geo books are amazing! We have a human body one that's very similar and I just busted it out a few weeks ago to help our 7th grader diagram the circulatory system so keep them handy ; )

  20. Thanks for sharing! I'm going to try out that hand soap, I need a new one! I shared some of my favorites last week and most of them were from Amazon and one from Paper Sunday. 💜 Here's the link if you'd like to check it out! http://www.mandimoore.com/currently-loving-march-2018/

  21. Hi Andrea, thanks for sharing the seabands tip - both myself AND my son are car sick (this is embarrassing at my age :)) so I will definitely give these a go as regular travel meds make me fell awful. BTW I'd LOVE to buy pepper spray but I think it is illegal in the UK, which is ridiculous! Re the Burt's Bees - hope you don't mind me asking but is it not at all drying on the eyes ( I love BB but almost every makeup remover I try on my eyes dries them out) and would love to try these if you recommend them? Joanne x

  22. Ordered the kites yesterday for my nieces & nephews, thanks for the idea, I was trying to come up with something besides a bunch of candy they don't need! Thank goodness you & Griffin were safe, I had a freaky situation at SAMs happen to me so I know how scary that can be, except yours was worse with Griffin with you. I always carry pepper spray too!

  23. You need to do a video showing how you use the packing cubes...I ordered and quickly returned because I couldn't make them work for me as well as just using the fold and roll method lol.

  26. The last thing I ordered from Amazon was college textbooks for my son. Not very interesting...
I need to get a few kites before Easter. I love those kind of books for kids. I end up reading them myself.
