7-Up Biscuits

I can't believe that I haven't shared this recipe before!  I've made these for YEARS and they are so easy and delicious and when I made them Tuesday night I snapped a few pictures along the way to share.

Here's what you'll need...

- 4 cups of Bisquick
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 cup (not can!) of 7-up (or Sprite)
- 1 cup sour cream (I use reduced fat)

Step 1 - Melt the butter and pour most of it into the bottom of a 9x13 baking dish

Step 2 - Cut the 1 cup of sour cream into the Bisquick, add the 1 cup of 7-UP and mix it all together with a wooden spoon.  It's going to seem super sticky and that's totally okay.  Promise!

Step 3 - Put the dough out on a floured surface (I use parchment paper so that it's easy to clean up), sprinkle a little more flour on top and then roll it out a bit.  Use a biscuit cutter (or a measuring cup if you're like me and don't have a biscuit cutter) to cut 15 biscuits out and lay them in the baking dish.

(I rolled my dough out a little bit too thin and so I had dough left over that I rolled out again, cut out extra biscuits and then just put them on top of a few that were already in the dish)

Step 4 - Top with the rest of the melted butter and bake at 425 for about 20 minutes or when they start to brown.

They're flaky and golden and perfect as is alongside meatloaf and green beans and delicious with some strawberry jelly in the mornings.  You can easily half the recipe (just use an 8x8 baking dish) and are best straight out of the oven yet still good reheated the next day.  Can you tell we like them a little bit?

The absolute best part of them though is the bottom.  SO GOOD!

If you make these and love them I'd love to hear about it!

Happy Thursday, friends!

  5. This is one of our favorite recipes! I don’t ever roll out/cut the biscuits though. I just drop spoonfuls into the pan and call them drop biscuits- much quicker and easier, and they taste the same! ;)
