Show and Tell Tuesday - Best Day Ever

I feel like I'm going to share today and y'all are going to think I'm super boring :)  We're showing and telling about our

and while I could make something up and say that my idea of the best day ever would be filled with traveling somewhere exotic or doing something adventurous, the reality is that my idea of a perfect day would look more like this...

On my best day ever we'd all sleep in.  And I'd love to say that when I woke up our bed would be full of snuggly, happy kids... but the truth is that I'd want to wake up to find the kids playing quietly in the other room while Dave cooked bacon :)  We're talking dream day, right?!?!

Nothing makes me happier than a little chill in the air.  My best day ever would HAVE to include temps in the low-sixties with a big comfy sweater.  We'd walk to the park, drink hot tea while the kids played and then...

I mean.  It wouldn't be a perfect day without some brisket tacos and guacamole, right?  We'd enjoy the meal on a really pretty patio sans whining :)

I love a good rainy afternoon.  Kids playing, light drizzle, cracked windows, candles burning, time to read... you get the idea.  I'd bake something yummy (and Dave would clean up the huge mess I always make) and cook dinner (probably something pasta-y and cheesy).

There's not a whole lot I enjoy more than having everyone around the table together (eating carbs) and talking/laughing.  ;)  After dinner we'd go on a walk (wearing hoodies!) and then come back home for...

A few rounds of our favorite games and then we'd pull out all the blankets and pillows and snuggle up in the family room to watch a movie and eat popcorn.

So... there you have it :)  I feel like you're getting a little peek into how "homebody" I really am... but seriously... this is my idea of a perfect day.

Do I love to "go and do" with my family?  Sure.  But my favorite days are typically filled with simple little pleasures like reading books together, baking cookies, watching the kids play outside, etc.

I'm excited to read through everyone else's posts and see what y'alls idea of a perfect day would be.  I have a feeling that there are going to be LOTS of different takes on it and I love that!  Link your post below OR tell us what your "best day ever" would look like in the comments.

Happy Tuesday, friends!

  6. Just another reason I love reading your blog so much! All but the sleeping in part (I'm a morning person....usually up by 5:00 (and that's late for me, even when I can sleep late.), this would have been my idea of a perfect day for me too when my kids were little. Reading your blog is so refreshing. So good to see a young mother in this day and time who values her family and family time like you do.

  7. This is totally my idea of the best day too! I love slow days with nothing to do and no where to go. Nothing like staying home and spending time with family!

  14. You are a woman after my own heart! This would be my exact perfect day as well! I might changed out the Mexican food for lunch for some yummy broccoli cheddar soup. Nothing makes my heart happier than a delicious bowl of soup on a rainy day!

  18. All the yes to this day! Your day sounds exactly like how mine would sound. A day with a chill in the air and a rainy afternoon! I adore a good rainy day but it has to be the kind where it's REEEEALLY dark. Those are the best kind. <3
