Weekend Recap - Father's Day Edition

It was such a fun weekend celebrating the world's BEST DAD!!!

Friday morning I was rounding the kids up to go run a few errands and came upstairs to this....

... it's hard to be too annoyed at the mess when they had been playing nice for at least an hour :)

We ran a few errands which included meeting another MCA mom to buy uniform pieces for Griffin!  I still can't believe that she's going to be in PreK!!!

After a morning of errands we spent the afternoon running around the yard...

... stuffing goldfish through the space where Luke's two front teeth should be...

... and swimming :)

Friday evening we met a few friends at Playstreet Museum for Friday Night Floats!  Root beer floats and a couple of hours of playing.  PERFECT!!!

This picture was a bust because of Luke's half-blink... but look at Griffin's face!!!

Saturday morning we were talking about leaving for Colorado and packing and Mason ran upstairs to "pack his bag" and came down with this...

... apparently all he's going to need is a whole bunch of beanie boos :)

I had to run a couple of errands and came upon this!!!

I have a feeling that this might be the last batch before the season is over so I definitely seized the moment :)

We swam pretty much all of Saturday afternoon so when we came inside for a movie this wasn't surprising...

... my mom stopped by and I was cleaning upstairs so she and Luke played Quirkle and then apparently laid down for a nap :)

After a late dinner the kids and I headed out for a "night swim"...

SO FUN!!!

Sunday morning we woke up LATE so instead of rushing to church we decided to head to the second service and take our time getting ready and opening gifts with homemade wrapping paper...

Look at Luke's right hand in the next picture - DYING!!! :)

This cute maxi is so cool and comfy!  I think it will be a staple piece in my back-to-school wardrobe.

(I'll have more bag details on Friday's post!)

I was picking GG up from Sunday school while the boys played laser tag and had someone take this picture for them.  THE BEST!!!

Sunday afternoon we did a few things around the house, picked up our new patio furniture (YESSS!!!) and got ready to have my parents over for dinner.  The kids even decorated the presents for them (we had a combined Mother's/Father's Day celebration).

This one that Luke made was my favorite!  He drew Luke, Haha and Gibi but "ran out of room" for his siblings so he made a speech bubble that says, "we're here too" with Mason and GG's name!

We opened gifts...

... ate homemade lasagna...

... and played a bunch of games.

And ended the night like this...

We had a great time celebrating my dad and Dave and ended the weekend on a high note.

Hope y'all had a great weekend and had an opportunity to hug all the special "dads" in your life!  Happy Monday!!!

  13. Hello! I love your blog (and have been reading for a few years now), but I don't know if I've ever commented. However, I had to ask about the Natives for Luke. Both my kids love Natives, but my 7-year-old son now wears a size 1, and I've having the hardest time finding cute colors (like red). The only thing I can ever find at Nordstrom or Amazon is black, navy and sometimes gray (which is what he wears right now). Any other ideas of where to shop? Thanks!

    1. Oh no!!! I usually have good luck at Nordstrom but I've also bought directly from the Natives site as well as Zappos. Let me know how your search goes!
