Happy Monday, Friends!!! Friday morning was the last Friday or the year and we celebrated with silly filters and lots of extra kisses in the parking lot before heading off to class.
Friday night we had movie night and this pretty much sums up all of our moods after last week. It was member-guest at the country club and Dave was at work before 5:30 in the morning Wednesday through Saturday (also... let's talk about how yesterday was his first day off in two weeks).
I'm super lucky because Dave pretty much "handles" mornings in our house (he goes in to work an hour or so after we head to school) so last week kind of kicked my butt. Add to that end-of-school-year shenanigans and by Friday night we all looked like this...
Thankfully we had a chance to slow it waaaaaay down over the weekend. We crossed a few things off our calendars in order to regroup (and for me to not completely fall apart from exhaustion) and it was exactly what we all needed.
I can't remember the last time I had time to actually cook the kids breakfast - well... Saturday was the day. I texted Dave this picture with the caption, "look who's back!" ;)
We even had a few extra friends join us for the meal...
... and then I spent the rest of the morning/afternoon putting our lives back in order ;) Cleaning, scrubbing, organizing... it all felt so good! hahaha We even favored in Chick-fil-A because I didn't want to lose momentum.
When I posted the pic above on my Instastory I had TONS of questions about what the service was. Well... it's an app called Favor that you download and then can order food and other items from TONS of local restaurants and stores (if the app operates in your area). The delivery fee is typically $3-5 (and then you tip on top of that) but they often run free delivery specials and such. It's REALLY convenient and more often than not the fee/tip is WELL worth not having to get out (like when your kids are asleep and you NEED Zoe's Kitchen!).
If you want to try Favor you can use the code ANDRM1R8 and get $5 credit! (It's a referral link so I'll get a credit as well... so THANK YOU in advance!) Once you get signed up you'll get your own code so you can tell all your friends about it and get credits as well!
After our house was cleaned top to bottom, the laundry was all folded and put away and we had spent a sufficient amount of time jumping on the trampoline Mason and I wrapped a present for his friend Victoria (who apparently LOVES donuts) and headed to her superhero party...
... at a Gymnastics facility.
I snapped a total of one picture because I was busy sitting :) hahaha They moved from this room (which also had 2 bounce houses) to the CUTEST room ever with tree houses and a zipline and foam pits. It was so fun!
Meanwhile, Luke and Griffin were back home with McKinley playing, doing sidewalk chalk and walking to the park.
Sunday we slept in and then played all day. Literally. Mason made a matching cape for his beanie boo...
... and I almost couldn't handle the cuteness.
We ate lunch outside...
... and then spent pretty much the rest of the day in the pool.
Including Jack Bauer :)
We got the unicorn float out for her inaugural swim...
... and then this happened :)
We couldn't resist and went ahead and blew up the rest of the inflatables (they were birthday gifts from Shay a few years - hahaha)
After swimming the kids played with our Thomas the Train pieces (which have been in our attic for the past year!)...
... I worked on something SWEET...
... and then this happened...
It was a super restful and productive weekend. Just what we all needed before a week of picnics, parties, awards ceremonies, exams, luncheons and graduations. I still can't believe the last week of school is here!
Tomorrow is Show and Tell Tuesday and it's "Travelogues" Day where we're going to show and tell about the best (and worst!) trips that we've been on. I'm looking forward to seeing all the great places y'all have been so get your posts ready!!!
Happy Monday, friends!
You want to hear something funny? Chandler brought us Chick-fil-a on Saturday too! We had back to back baseball games and my kids were starving, but we couldn't leave the ball fields so I favored Chick-fil-a and Chandler brought it to us. Ha!
ReplyDeleteSeriously. I'm so jealous! Haha.
DeleteOur closest Chickfila is 45 minutes away. And of course, we don't have anything like Favor!
#smalltownprobs
DeleteWe should just personally employ Chandler! He's the best! :)
DeleteA fun + relaxing weekend ... my favorite!! Happy Monday, girl!
ReplyDeleteME TOO!!! Thanks, Whitney!
DeleteSounds like the perfect weekend! Those inflatables are so fun!!
ReplyDeleteIt was pretty great!
DeleteI need to check out that Favor app!! I'm so jealous of your pool!!
ReplyDeleteFavor is THE best!!! And it's so funny because I was soooo anti-pool and now I LOVE it!
Delete#perfection basically!! So glad y'all enjoyed your wonderful weekend!!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Britt!
DeleteWhat was your something sweet that you baked? It looks delish!
ReplyDeleteCarrot cake!!! I'm sharing the recipe this week!
DeleteI can relate to this post! Last week beat me up and I was so ready for Friday after school. We did a lot of nothing this weekend, just quality time and I loved it. I also had to smile about the breakfast. One of my favorite parts about summer break (or any break) is being able to make my kids a great breakfast like that. On school mornings they get cereal or toast and we are always rushed out the door. I love making them breakfast and lunches throughout the summer. I hope you have a great day!
ReplyDeleteGlad you "get me" on the breakfast thing! I love making them a great breakfast and during the school year Dave makes them breakfast OR I'm throwing a cereal bar at them in the backseat of the van :)
DeleteAndrea, I admire your perspective. So many people wear busy like a badge. Busier is not better. So glad you had a "calm before the storm" kind of weekend. Happy Monday!!
ReplyDeleteThanks, girl!!! We skipped a few things on our agenda that day... but in the end it was better for everyone! Sometimes we just need to be together and that's it!
DeleteYou're in the home stretch, friend! You can do it!!!!
ReplyDeleteYes ma'am!!!
DeleteThat Favor App is amazing! It looks like it's only a Texas thing but I hope it catches on because that would save this mama a whole lot of time! I will definitely be testing it out during our trip to Dallas this summer!
ReplyDeleteOh nooooo!!!! Hopefully it comes to your area soon!
DeleteI have never seen somebody go to as many birthday parties as y'all do! We decline a LOT of invites! I bet your kids have a blast! That gym looks fantastic! But I'm sure you're exhausted keeping up! Rest up Mama!
ReplyDeleteOh, girl! I think at a small school it's harder to say no sometimes - but the kids always have a blast and I try to remember that when this season is over I"ll probably miss it!
DeleteI love Griffin's swimsuit - would you mind sharing where you got it. I am having a hard time find a suit that will cover my daughter's little belly. :)
ReplyDeleteSure! The brand is Hula Star (they have GREAT two piece options that cover their tummies) and I got hers at Nordstrom last year... but I've seen them on Amazon as well.
DeleteGirlfriend, you killed it this weekend! You need a nap! And now I am craving Zoes.... ;)
ReplyDeleteThat Inspired Chick
Hahaha - We need to hit up Zoe's together soon!!!
DeleteSounds like the perfect weekend! Praying for you in the last few days of school!
ReplyDeleteThank you!!! So sweet of you!
DeleteLooks like a wonderful weekend! Love the pool pics! I need to try the Favor app!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Laura!!! And YES! Favor soon :)
DeleteOMG, I'll have to check Favor out! That is amazing and I've never even heard of it before.
ReplyDeleteHopefully it's in your area!
DeleteIt looks like you had such a nice weekend! We need one of those, but there is no end in sight. I will have to check out Favor. So neat!
ReplyDeleteYou may have to cross a few things off your list :) Our schedule wasn't letting up anytime soon so I just kind of made it happen. totally worth it!
DeleteYou had a great weekend friend!
ReplyDeleteI am not sure if my last comment went through so I apologize if you get 2 from me - so my life! But we got our toy trains back out after a hiatus this weekend too! I need to try favor or at least see if it's in our area! Have a great last week of school :)! Xoxo Erin
ReplyDeleteFabulous weekend, these are the memory making days. Love your pool and that favour app - how cool, we don't have chic fil a here, but I think red rooster do deliveries here.
