Weekend Recap - Extra Day Edition

Friday was a day off of school for us, so Dave took the morning and we headed out to the Dallas Arboretum to check out the pumpkins.  If you've never been to The Arboretum during the Fall it is BEAUTIFUL!!!  There are pumpkins everywhere you look and it's pretty much incredible.  We went ahead and bought a membership because we knew we'd have to be back again this season (and then again for 12 Days of Christmas and Spring, etc.).  It's seriously GORGEOUS!

Griffin asked to bring Baby with her and we obliged her.  It's not always possible to take Baby with us, but we were there bright and early and there was lots of pathway space for her to push so we agreed ;)

She gets as excited as I do about #allthepumpkins ;)

GORGEOUS pumpkins!

They have an awesome pumpkin village that my kids were in AWE of!

The pumpkin village was getting busy, so we put baby in our wagon.  We had SO MANY weird looks and double takes... someone even stopped us to tell us that our baby didn't look safe before they realized it was a bitty baby ;)

A maze of pumpkins...

She thought this little gourd was hilarious :)

Why no pictures of the boys?  They were running around playing in the maze until we finally corraled them for an attempt at a group picture.  Not so much :)

Cinderella's carriage was there set in among HUNDREDS of white fairytale pumpkins.  She was a teeny bit excited :)

Pumpkins EVERY. WHERE.

We brought a picnic lunch and sat out by the lake to eat.

Random fact - in college Dave and I performed in a concert in this amphitheater...

I bought Griffin this cute kitty mask for Halloween and threw it and a dress in my bag at the last minute hoping to get a picture of her in it with the pumpkins.  Look how sweet!

It was a pretty tiring morning...

so we spent the rest of the afternoon just playing, trying on Halloween costumes and having a movie night.  Perfect little day off!

Saturday morning we hit the ground running with an early morning soccer game for Mason.

Biscuits at the game have become our little tradition.  No objecting from me!

We were there a few minutes early and so we watched the end of the previous game and I had the best view...

Mason played goalie for the first time and one of the moms on his team texted me this picture of him in goal.  He had several blocks and had SO MUCH FUN playing that position.

Griffin and I headed to dance...

... and then stopped in at the grocery store to pick up a few things.  And yes... I took a bathroom selfie because I am IN LOVE with this top.

A friend of Mason's came home with us after soccer...

... and we spent most of the afternoon and evening playing outside.

Sunday morning GG was having a boho moment for church.  And yes, she's carrying her dance trophy from last year around.

Showing off her Sunday School craft :)

And my Sunday afternoon looked a lot like this...

We spent Sunday afternoon outside and then got organized for the week.  It's going to be a busy one (It's Homecoming Week!), so there was lots of prep to do.  #isentemailsfortwohours

My dad came by Sunday night to watch football and the kids convinced him that there was time for a quick walk to check out some Halloween decorations down the street...

A quick trip to the park on the way home to slide a couple of times and catch some lightning bugs and then we were home for bedtime routine.

'

I didn't do any of the laundry I wanted to and it's currently 8:15 p.m. on Sunday night and I'm JUST now starting my grading - but sometimes those are just the kinds of weekends I need :)
