Friday Favorites - New Kicks Edition

Happy Friday, Friends!  Week two is under our belt and I feel like we're hitting our back-to-school stride.  Considering the fact we've been at it for two weeks it's about time :)

ErikaNarci and I are sharing our Friday Favorites again and we'd love for you to join us!  Grab our graphic, link back to one (or all!) of us and share a post of your favorites below!

I mentioned in Monday's post that Dave got to throw out the first pitch at a Rough Riders baseball game and shared some cell phone pics that by BIL and SIL snapped from the stands. Well, we got a few pictures from the team this week and look how fun!!!

I totally admit to being a complete Halloween junkie.  It's my FAVORITE!  I love how festive and fun everything is, I love the candy, costumes and the anticipation of trick-or-treating.

My boys are still in the process of picking their costumes (we'll probably end up ordering something mid-October and then they'll change their minds 4 times between when it arrives and Halloween) :)  and I think that this is probably my last year to have a say in Griffin's costume.

My mom made all of my costumes growing up (seriously... she made me a globe costume.  She's incredible... but she doesn't sew that much anymore) and so when I got the chance to pick a handmade costume from Five Little Monkeys Designs for Griffin this year I was so excited to get her something that she could wear this year for Halloween, wear for dress-up and then I can hold onto for her in her keepsake box.

Griffin and I browsed through the costumes and I was SHOCKED that she picked Little Red Riding Hood over the Elsa costume.   We have this book at home and so I guess it's not too shocking... but I really thought Frozen would be the pick :)

The cape over the dress is PERFECTION!!!  And the quality is amazing.  I really can't say enough great things about it.

SO EXCITED for Halloween!!!  Thank you so much Five Little Monkeys!!!

I wore one of my very FAVORITE dresses earlier this week!

With a big 'ol stack of FAVORITE bracelets :)

And a new FAVORITE shirt and kimono.  I get lots of questions about the baseball caps I wear and I buy them from Southern Trends online.  They always have lots of cute clothes as well and add lots of new things all the time.

Me and the boys leaving in the morning is NOT Griffin's FAVORITE.  Poor baby!

If you've been around the blog for any length of time then you know that personalized plates are my FAVORITE! My kids have tons and I love to give them as gifts as well.  You can find several Christmas styles today on Zulily for 40% off!!!

If you're planning a North Pole Breakfast these could be SO CUTE for your Elf to bring with them!

These three Kindergarten cuties are my FAVORITE!!! How many years of holding hands down the deck do you think we have in our future :)

I saw this picture on Facebook earlier this week and I just about spit out my tea.  My friends can attest to what kind of texter I am, right girls? :)

Earlier this week I posted on Instagram about being part of a $1000 Boden Clothing giveaway and I was so excited to be asked to participate and to get to pick out a few "back to school" items for Griffin.  I've loved Boden clothes for YEARS and had such a hard time picking because everything is SO GOOD!

I was tempted by these cute dresses (the sparkle!!!), but opted for a few more casual pieces (joggers - tee) that she can run around in and be cute and comfy this Fall.  We headed to the library downtown earlier this week and I grabbed my camera to try and snap a few pictures on the way :)

Window shopping :)

I've talked before about how much I love our downtown - well this night was no exception.  The shops were closed and the square was pretty quiet.

I mean!!! The little kicks!!!  I am OBSESSED with these and Griffin loves the colors.

Hold up, mom.  ;)

I grabbed a couple of these little stink faces too :)  SO CUTE!

Love this chalk wall.

She also got the COZIEST hoodie - but was NOT having it. ;)

"Oh, hey... you want me to wear this??? Yeah, no." :)

We swung through Local Yocal on the way back to the car and the kids sat on the tractors...

... and took a trip up and down the curvy stairs.

And we had to stop by Ambrosia to check out the Sid Dickens tiles.  This is how I look in the window too.  ;)

If you haven't already, be sure to head HERE to enter to win!  How fun would it be to spend $1000 at Boden?!?!

This weekend our plans include about 17 loads of laundry (OMG!), cleaning, showering a sweet new baby about to make his arrival and a baked ziti recipe I've been itching to try.  HEre's hoping that your weekend is filled with fun plans and lots of time with family!  Happy Friday, Friends!!!

PS - Thank you to Boden, Southern Trends and 5 Little Monkeys for being awesome to work with and for sending us lots of our FAVORITES this week.  Also, this post contained affiliate links which means that if you clicked on a link and made a purchase I may receive a small commission.  THANK YOU!!!

  3. That Little Red Riding Hood costume is so cute! I'm actually off the the costume hire shop tomorrow with my twins to get them both a costume for their year 11 fancy dress ferry cruise. My daughter is wanting to go as Super Girl and my son is still undecided. We could be in store for quite some time!

    Have a good weekend!

  8. Love the costume! Question for you: I love all your braclets but I have a very small wrist, and most regular ones end up near my elbow, do you have any solutions to keep your braclets from sliding up your arm? I would love any tips! Thank you!

    1. Oh gosh! Sounds like you have teeny arms! if you can bend them (like the wire wrap ones) you could try squeezing them into a more oval shape
