Weekend Recap - Lots of Friends Edition

Happy Tuesday, friends!!!

Friday morning we did what we do most mornings at our house. Breakfast and watercolors.  I'm going to miss lazy mornings so much when school starts back!

Luke has been reading tons of Captain Underpants books and I was SO IMPRESSED with his drawing and watercolor of him!

We had planned on swimming in the afternoon and so I got GG in her suit and then tidied up a bit.  When it was time to go out back I found her like this :)

She is growing up so fast and then things like this happen and I get a little glimpse at Baby Griffin :)  Love when that happens!

She napped for a bit while the boys and I played a game and then we swam for a few hours before Dave came home for a quick break in between lunch and dinner rushes... and he brought us french fries!

Poolside fries for the win!

Saturday morning we were treated to an extra crazy dose of bedhead and sibling love ;)

And then I ran by Griffin's dance studio to pick up her spring pictures...

Y'all!!!

We missed the recital (it was on moving day) and I am so happy that we have the pictures from the week before to remember her first year of dance.  She's enrolled for Fall and can't wait for classes to start again!

Dave went in to work and the kids and I made dinner, cookies and swam.

It was Mason's turn to help bake, but Griffin was sure to keep a close eye on the situation :)

It doesn't get much better than this!!

Saturday night all the kids crashed early and it was just me and Jack Bauer with cookies and books on the couch.

Sunday morning we went to church and then spent the afternoon taking naps and cleaning up.  I had a girls social with the girls from our Sunday School class that night and we all brought a dessert to share along with a favorite beauty product to swap.  I grabbed a few of my favorites from the grocery store and headed over to Sarah's house.  I ate way too many desserts and came home with my own gift :)  The one I wanted was stolen and it was near the end of the game so I stuck with what I knew :)

(I haven't tried this particular nail gel before... I wanted to get THIS polish but since they didn't have it I grabbed it because the color was super close)

While the girls were swapping beauty products and eating dessert Dave hosted an impromptu pool party for some of the dads and kids at our house.  Just a FEW ;) hahaha

I think that the guys and all the kids probably had as much (if not more!) fun than the moms and when I got home all I kept hearing about from Griffin was how Mr. Ryan and Mr. Dave were throwing her in the water... homegirl LOVES the water and is an absolute FISH.  She can do underwater flips, she purposefully lays flat on the bottom of the pool and will hang out upside down underwater just for fun.  Ryan is TALL (like... 6'6" tall) and Griffin LOVED how high he could throw her...

Apparently she even did a flip in the air once or twice and came up out of the water saying, "one more time", after each and every throw.

It was such a fun weekend and totally ended up a high note.

Hope your weekend was a great one!

  8. I would bring the beauty blender ! Love it

  9. I would have to bring the eye primer from Mary Kay! It's really cheap and works just as well (if not better) than the more expensive kind from Sephora. I put a little on each morning before applying my eyeshadow and it keeps my eyeshadow on all day--through sweat, swimming, and exercise!

  10. Too fun! And Sheaffer is right - your cabinets look great! My favorite product right now is Bare Minerals BareSkin liquid foundation. And I love a Beauty Blender to blend it in.

  12. Fun! Love the water color picture. That's talent! This is random, but where did you get your sectional sofa? We are currently house hunting but we know we want a sectional similar to the one you have.

  13. Hmmm....I'd have to bring a lipstick from Mary Kay. "Wild About Pink". It is the prettiest shade of a pink. Bright, but not overwhelming. Loving it this summer!

  14. What a fun time! I'm starved right now and almost licked my screen when I saw that pb & banana english muffin. YUM! I think I would have to bring the Mario Badescu face spritzer...this time of year my face dries out so fast and it really is refreshing to give my face a little squirt during the day. Have a super day!

  18. What a fun weekend! I love the beauty product swap idea. I need a good mascara so I'm going to grab that one tomorrow. If I were swapping, I'd bring a NYX mega shine lip gloss (in natural), and ELF blush brush (my new favorite), and a Bath & Body Works body spray (not really a beauty product but a favorite I use every day!).

  19. I read Necessary Lies this summer and loved it. Super intense and hard to read at times, but found myself not being able to put it done. Such a fun weekend with your family:)
