Weekend Recap - Birthday Donuts Edition

Friday morning started off with a birthday celebration in Mason's class.  We got there as they were wrapping up their circle time with a song.  SO CUTE!!!

Their snack time is in the morning and so we opted for donuts.  I ordered the CUTEST donuts ever (from Allen Donuts at McDermott and 75 if you're local) and they did not disappoint.

Dave had planned  on taking Griffin to Miss Lisa's before bringing the donuts up to school, but traffic was awful for him coming back down the highway, so Griffin ended up coming to celebrate.

Mrs. Andrerson was so sweet and asked Griffin to come up and stand with Mason ;)

Mason loved having his sister there ;)

We are going to miss Mrs.Anderson so much next year when Mason goes to Kindergarten!

Checking out his birthday donuts...

McKinley is the teacher's aid in his class every morning and he ADORES him some McKinley :)

and Anna Grace came by too!  Love this picture :)

Such a fun morning with our sweet boy!

Saturday Mason turned FIVE!  We had a party for him and Griffin in the morning (more on that later) and then came home for lunch and a few presents from me and Dave.  Naps all around, a few appointments and then early to bed for everyone.

I took one picture of Mason opening his presents and it was a real winner :)

Sunday morning our Sunday School class took our kids and volunteered at the Mission Reagan warehouse.  I coordinated an additional service opportunity for those of us with younger kids and we got together and colored cards for hospitalized kids.

(This is a super easy and super fun service project that's great to do with kids.  Find out more HERE)

Sunday afternoon we worked on some house projects like (if you missed my IG post yesterday - we're moving!!!  More on that later this week)...

... and then I got ready to go paint with some girlfriends.  And yes.... after a solid day of rain, baseball cap it was.

We painted with a twist and had so much fun!  I'm taking my hydrangea painting to my classroom.

So much fun!!!

This week is a busy one... we're prepping for our house to officially go on the market, I'm going to NASA with my eighth graders and Dave's schedule is insane.   When it rains it pours, right?!?! :) hahaha

Happy Monday, Friends!!!

  7. Oh my word! The Lego struggle is real...solidarity on that. But if I ever had a bin that big I think I would have a panic attack and need to start breathing into a paper bag. We keep ours in these awesome snap-top containers from Lakeshore Learning. And some sets we don't let our boys take apart (like Star Wars ships- though that might be because those were actually my husband's Christmas gifts! Lol). Good luck on the move!

  18. OH MY WORD. That tub of Legos. HAHA! I have one small tub and definitely need a bigger one, but that is ginormous! I don't know how you keep track of them all! My Mason was trying to follow some instructions for an airplane this weekend. It was a red and white plan and it turned into a blue/green/white/red and black plane because he couldn't find the right pieces!

Congrats on the moving! Good luck!!

  19. Those birthday doughnuts are the cutest!!! We have a place here in OK that makes donuts like that! The kids love them! And, y'all are moving! I feel like everyone has moved in the past year! #newhousesforeveryone Good luck with the purging and packing! It's my least favorite part of moving, but then again, I joke with my friends that we love to move! We've had 9 houses in 10 years of marriage! Oh, and those paintings- super cute! Great idea to take it to your classroom!
