Weekend Recap - On A Wednesday Edition

Friday afternoon rolled around and we were all glad to be home.  Especially Griffin and Jack Bauer.

They look like they're making the same face ;)

It was Pizza Friday so we indulged in a few slices and some major silly.

A couple of Matilda Jane dresses had come in the mail that afternoon, so I slipped one on her and took her outside really quick to snap a picture for my Trunk Keeper, Kat.  Then the heavens opened up and I randomly snapped what might be my most favorite picture of her EVER.

We spent the rest of the evening getting out what seemed like all of our toys (or at least those that have lots of pieces) and playing.

See what I mean???  Toys.  Everywhere.

Saturday morning Griffin and I headed out to dance (we're still waiting on her leotard... I can't wait!).

She had so much fun again and seemed to come out of her shell a little bit more than the first week.

After dance she hydrated ;) and then we went to Target to grab a couple of things.

My little shopping buddy!
She always wants to hang on the end of the cart like her brothers, but she typically doesn't make it off the carpeted area before she's walking or riding in the front of the cart.

About 15 minutes into our trip she had a blood sugar moment (cue the tears), but it wasn't anything that a bag of Pirate's Booty and an apple juice couldn't fix.

While Griffin and I were at Target, the boys were at SAMs and Mason wanted Dave to take a picture of his muscles and send it to the girls :)

We met up with the boys at the MCA playground since it was a really nice morning (as in under 80 degrees) and let the kids run and play for an hour or so.

Ummmm.... when did she turn 10?!?!?!

He was scared, but also determined.  And with Mason, determination usually wins out.

He did it!  He ended up jumping to the platform and was so proud of himself!

After lunch there was some craziness... including this girl who loves to sit in the crate with Jack Bauer.  #shesamess  Jack Bauer is so patient and sweet and he LOVES snuggling with her.

We brought out the watercolors and Mason painted a picture of me and him :)

Saturday night my mom came over to watch Mason and Griffin and Luke and I picked up his best friend, Lincoln, and we headed to BINGO night at school.  It's a super fun family night with pizza, prizes and a big raffle at the end .

As we were walking in, they asked me if I was going to drop them off!
Ummmmmmm...... slow your roll, big kid!!!  Maybe in another 5 years.  Maybe.

We played 10 rounds of BINGO, ate an entire pizza and laughed.  A lot.

All these boys are in 1st grade and they were all convinced they were going to win the drawing for the tablet.  They had their fingers, legs and arms all crossed :)

After BINGO night Lincoln slept over (it was Luke's first sleepover) and it was so much fun.  We had brownie sundaes, they watched HOME and they played LEGOS for waaaaaaay too long.

Sunday morning we were piling everyone into the van after church and Griffin was occupying herself by pretending to drive.

We got all the boys buckled in and then it was GG's turn.  She was having NONE of it.  NONE.
Strong willed much??? :)

We all rested and then Griffin and I went to Kat's house to play with Matilda Jane while the boys went to their first AWANAs meeting.

We had such a fun weekend and we're ready for another one :)

Happy Wednesday, Friends!!!

  7. I have been in Dave's spot many times.....a kid attached to a steering wheel! I only wish I had a picture as cute as that one you got of GG! 8. What a great weekend! I love how you can make even a challenging situation (hanging on to the steering wheel, anyone?;) into just a fun glimpse of regular old childhood! If I had to pick a "favorite" (and it's really, really hard!) I think Mason wanting to send a pic of his muscles to the girls is it! Love it all, Andrea. Hope you never stop the weekend recaps, they are just so much fun!

    1. Thank you!!! You're so sweet :) A situation like that would have probably stressed me out with Luke (poor, poor firstborn), but I've realized now that all you can do is smile and laugh :) hahaha

    3. No worries! Tone is hard to convey and interpret online :) I'm thinking Anonymous was (hopefully) being sarcastic. And yes, it's shocking that with her wardrobe I didn't have a single leotard! GASP! hahaha Thankfully the situation has been remedied and she is fully prepared for dance! Both of y'all have a FABULOUS weekend!
