Friday Favorites - One More Week Edition

This week has been FANTASTIC!!!  I'm exhausted, but it's been the best.  I teach six classes, three separate preps, and each of them have taken two tests this week (a chapter and a quarter test) and I make two practice tests AND a real test for each of those.  So without boring you with the Math (hahaha - get it), the point is I've been swamped with test writing, answer key making and grading.  Oh, and don't forget that I'm giving exams next week,  so I've been finalizing those and making practice exams as well.  Are you jealous yet??? :)  All that said, I am pumped for Summer and lots of fun events going on in the next couple of weeks and I've had my FAVORITE flowers at home, so it's all good.

Have you ever seen peonies this big and gorgeous?!?!?!

Sorry for the obnoxious number of flower pictures :)

On Monday, I wore one of my FAVORITE shirts and linen pants always make me happy.  And I loooooooooved that it was cool enough to wear not only a long sleeve shirt but a scarf as well.  AMEN!

After school, Luke went with my dad to his skating lesson and so Dave, the littles and I hit up one of my FAVORITE places - IKEA!  Griffin is officially in her big girl bed (more on that later) and I was on the hunt for some big square photo frames for her wall.

Dave snapped this one of us walking in - some afternoons call for stripes on stripes and pigtails ;)
(You can check out my AWESOME bag HERE... I'll be talking more about it next week!)

Look at that face!!!  She was busy waving at the little boy who lives across the street and when I called her name to take a picture she gave me this death stare.

It's been sooooooo rainy here lately, but on Monday night it was beautiful and my FAVORITE part of the whole day was hanging out with these crazies after our errands.

They're each other's FAVORITE ;)

Last week I talked about Go Shout Love and the funds they are raising for a sweet baby girl, Addie - well, I wore my shirt twice this week.  T-shirts aren't just to pair with jeans or sweats on the weekends!  The shirt is SUPER soft and a great weight and I paired it with this denim jacket and these pants for a casual work look.

Tuesday night I met some of my FAVORITE people ever (my girlfriends!) and we ate brisket tacos and talked for hours.  We didn't take a pic at the restaurant (ugh!), but I did snap a selfie as I was walking out the door.

One of my FAVORITE things to do??? Make a big giant list of tasks and start crossing them off.  NOTHING feels better than putting a big 'ol X through the entire page at the end of the day!

It seems like my kids FAVORITE place to be is wherever I am all. the. time.

This is my view almost every morning.

Yes, he's wearing my Santa socks :)

and her room definitely isn't ready to show yet, but, it's quickly becoming my new FAVORITE room.  It's teeny, and I'm having a great time maximizing the space for her and making it bright and fun.

I forgot to post this one earlier, but Luke's teacher sent me this picture of me and my FAVORITE Kindergartener from the day I did the craft at his Easter party.  I still can't believe that he'll graduate from Kindergarten next week.

Last night we had one of our FAVORITE dinner - breakfast tacos! And everything tastes better when you get to assemble it yourself so I set out the bowls of scrambled eggs, sausage and shredded cheese so they could make their own.  It was a HUGE (and easy!!!) success.

Last up, I've talked before about how upset I get when I finish a TV series on Netflix.  I watch LOTS of shows while I'm lesson planning, blogging and/or working on Slightly Askew projects after the kids are in bed and I dread the day when a favorite series is over.  After my second (or maybe third???) time through Gilmore Girls I watched One Tree Hill (OMG! SO GOOD!) and I was hankering for another melodramatic teen (but not really teen) drama and so I started Gossip Girl. I didn't love it at first, but just like Chuck Bass himself the series totally grew on me.

I cried during the finale (because duh!!!)

So I thought it only fitting that I share some awesome memes to commemorate the occasion.  If you're not a Gossip Girl fan you're going to be totally out of the loop.  My apologies :)

This weekend our plans include a few yard projects and our Sunday School class picnic(fingers crossed for no more flash flooding!) and lots of exam prep for me.  But guess what - this time next week I'll be on summer vacation!!! WOO HOO!!!

Enjoy your weekends, girls!!!

  19. LOVE peonies too! I was lucky enough to have some beautiful ones that grew in the backyard at our *old* home. Sadly, I don't think there are any at our new home. But I'm still crossing my fingers since spring is springing a little late (or on and off, more so). ;)

    1. Hey! I got it about 6 years ago from a discount store called Big Lots. I bought two of them for Luke's room and I think I paid about $15/each for them. I was skeptical since they were so cheap, but they've been vacuumed a million times and have held up beautifully. Now G has one in her room and the boys have one in theirs!

  22. Hey!
I asked this before but don't know if you ever answered. I am planning to buy my boys the same beds from Ikea that your boys have. But I am wondering about what mattresses to get. Did you go with Ikea mattresses or just standard twin mattresses from a mattress store? Thanks so much!!!
