Joovy TooFold

When I was pregnant with Mason I stressed and stressed and stressed some more about picking a stroller.  I had some crazy parking lot nightmares during the first two trimesters as the thought of having TWO little people to cart around safely gave me total anxiety.  I just KNEW that if I could find the "perfect" stroller to haul my two little boys around in that my mind would be at ease.

I did lots of research and decided on the Joovy Ergo Caboose and when I picked it up, all my pregnancy/nesting/general crazy subsided, I exhaled and enjoyed my third trimester. (Seriously... I felt like if I could get my children in and out of places with ease, that I could take on the world. hahaha)

The Ergo Caboose was fabulous because when I had a baby in an infant carrier that clipped in, but it easily transitioned to a sit and stand once Mason or G was out of the carrier and could sit in the front seat.  I'm not exaggerating when I tell y'all that I MORE than got my moneys worth with this purchase.  this stroller has been everywhere with us... museum, mall, school, pool... everywhere.

Let's all just take a moment and look at Baby Mason!!!   SO STINKIN' SWEET!!!

This stroller has been through the McAnally ringer and looks brand new.

I had a tire issue almost a year ago with my Ergo Caboose and called Joovy.  I was expecting a customer service experience similar to those I'd had with "big box" companies and was pleasantly surprised to have a nice chat with the sweetest and most helpful employee, Dave (must be something about the name) :)  He sent me two new tires FOR FREE and gave me several helpful tips for getting the new tires installed.  It was an AWESOME experience.

This Spring I started to feel that we were "outgrowing" the need for the caboose.  I loved it dearly, but we weren't using the "stand" feature enough to warrant bringing it with me all the time.  I decided to start looking for smaller strollers and immediately decided that I wanted to go with Joovy.  They're a local company and that awesome customer service experience I had had before stood out among other companies.

When Joovy asked me to pick a stroller to review I was ECSTATIC!!!  I headed down to their location in Dallas and was greeted by a bright yellow TooFold.  EEEK!!!

What drew me to the TooFold were all the amazing features and the capability of switching from single, to sit-and-stand to double stroller with ease.

We immediately hit the Perot and got LOTS of questions and compliments on the color and unique design.  It's "off road" capable and has been able to handle parks, the field at school, etc.

MAMAS!!!  I'm pushing a double stroller full of children with ONE HAND!!! One hand, ladies!!!

I was skeptical about the "back seat", at first glance I thought it looked small and cramped.  But boy was I wrong.  Mason and G argue over who gets to sit back there :)  Mason is 4 and he still fits there comfortably.

The other night we went to the library and I asked DAve to snap a few pictures.  We were experiencing 40+ mph wind gusts... not ideal conditions :) hahaha

It has a cup holder on one side and a zipper pocket on the other...

The ONLY complaint I had about the TooFold was the size of the basket on the bottom.  I do NOT travel light and the smaller basket took some adjusting to :)  But I dealt with it, and it was good for me. hahaha  The stroller came with a great big bag that hangs on the handles, but I forgot to throw it in with me on this day.

The seat is completely removable and machine washable, which is AWESOME because smooshed banana and melted popsicle are inevitable around these parts :)

And because some of the features are hard to show in pictures, here's a video to show you exactly how fun and easy it is to use.  I attempted an outdoor video, but the wind was CRAZY, so I took this in my kitchen with my iPhone propped up on a jar of peanut butter.  #professional

Dave gave me the hardest time about filming this while wearing wedges, but I had just gotten back from dinner with girlfriends.  He told me that I should have filmed it in my pjs, as that's what I'm usually wearing post 8 pm ;)

Bidding adieu to my Ergo Caboose has been bittersweet, but the TooFold has been everything I'd hoped it would be (and more) and we're now able to pass along our beloved caboose to a family who needs it.

Joovy has a big selection of jogging, double and single strollers and accessories in a wide variety of price ranges.  They have play yards, bicycles, high chairs and bottles as well as a variety of other high quality, unique products.  Next year, Mason will join Luke at MCA for Pre-K and I've been eyeing the Groove Ultralight for Dave to keep in his car for running around with Griffin on Mondays.  He wants something small, compact and comfy and this appears to fit the bill.  I'll keep y'all updated on it and let you know what he thinks if we end up getting one.
Groove Ultralight

Strollers are a big, pricey, decision - but I firmly believe that you "get what you pay for" when it comes to baby gear and for me, personally, strollers are a big deal.  Getting out and about with lots of littles can be a point of stress and worry, and knowing that I'm equipped and ready to handle it easily and conveniently has given me peace of mind and confidence to get out and about with 3 five and under.  If you're in the market for a stroller I HIGHLY recommend you check out Joovy.  I have been nothing but impressed with every person who I've had contact with there both as a customer and as a reviewer.

So, have you heard of Joovy before?  Check out their website and let me know what you think!

Happy Thursday, friends!!!  See you tomorrow for Friday Favorites!!!

Thank you so very much to Joovy for providing our family with the TooFold to review.  We were gifted the stroller and all thoughts and opinions are totally my own :)

  2. I agree that a good stroller is a must with little ones. I have always used a Maclaren stroller and loved their double stroller.

    1. My video skills are SOOOOO lacking! I've considered getting a better (like actual) video camera, but I think that would take way from the fun of figuring out what household item I can use to jimmy rig my video setups. :)

    1. Next time we're out and I have it you can totally push it. OR you can have another baby and get one of your own. Either way :) hehehe

  9. That video was super helpful!! And I laughed out loud at the end "now' the weird part" haha! I am definitely going to check this stroller out! We've been looking for something like this that can be both a sit & stand and a double stroller. I LOVE that you can make it a single stroller as well!

    1. I love that too! It's convenient to have one stroller in the back of my van that serves all those purposes... and I don't feel like a crazy person pushing one kid around in my big traditional double stroller :)

  10. So fun to hear your voice. I would love something like this!! So basically the main difference between Ergo Caboose and the Toofold is the size?

    1. The Ergo Caboose is definitely a more traditional "sit and stand" stroller with the added bonus of being able to attach an infant carrier to it. And yes.... the size. The Too Fold is lighter and has the capability of being a single stroller if you only have one child with you.

  11. Great video, super helpful to see it in action. One question, can you hang a diaper bag from the handles with the backseat on? Seems like it might hit a kid in the face.

  12. I love all the configurations for that stroller! We have a joovy caboose and still love it! I think we'll only use it for one more year, and then all my babies will be out of the "needing a stroller" stage, which makes me so sad to think about!!!!

  14. I have been looking for a double stroller and could not find one I loved but you just saved me! This looks perfect!

  15. This stroller looks great, the color is fun. I got a baby jogger city select which is super awesome! It can be a single, double or triple with a stand option. It also has the option of a seat or car seat attachment. Strollers are big decisions! I felt the same way as you without a stroller for both kiddos. I thought I was trapped at home. My two year old is crazy too so I literally was! Strollers are life changing!

    1. I've heard great things about your stroller and couldn't agree more about them being life changing. :) They seem minor but knowing you can EASILY get out and about is awesome.

  16. I'm so glad you posted this, but did your kids always love the stroller? My daughter is 2 and I rarely use a stroller right now unless we go on walks because the second we get to the mall or wherever, she wants out and to just walk. I'm expecting baby #2 and I'm curious if you think my 2 year old would like to maybe stand better with the sit and stand? Just want your opinion because I don't want to spend the money on a double if she will refuse to go in it. Thanks!

    1. I think my kids know that they don't have a choice when I put them in.... Luke was never a huge fan, but I think that was partly may fault for letting him walk a lot more (which wasn't a big deal since he was my only one). Mason and G are great stroller riders probably because it's just what they're more used to. Griffin will protest occasionally, but for the most part she's pretty compliant. ;)

  17. Thanks for the video Andrea! I love that you propped it up on a jar of peanut butter! That's awesome. I've been looking into different double strollers as the one I have now is huge. And a lot of the times I'm just taking Maddox (10 months) so I really want something that can be for one person when needed without having to carry around an umbrella stroller too.

    1. I am NO video pro so the peanut butter worked for me. Dave offered to hold the phone, but I knew that I'd be laughing too hard at him teasing me to get a good video :) This would be perfect for what you described... I love the convenience of having one, lightweight, stroller that functions as both a double and single depending on what I need.

  18. When I first saw the title of your post, I wondered why you were posting on this. Your kids are so big and mobile always seem to be on the go, I forget that they have small legs and tire easily and corralling littles is tough work. This looks like a super multi-functional stroller. So glad it works for your family - and you look so cool pushing it around! And so colorful!

    1. Thanks so much for your comment! When I just had Luke I would have told you there was no way I'd need a stroller when my kids are 2, 4 and 7.... but the convenience of having at least one of them contained while checking out at a store or when waiting at a museum exhibit or just when getting into and out of the Doctor's office is super helpful. I use it ALL the time and it's great because more often than not at least one of them would rather ride than walk. :)

  19. I have the Joovy CocoonX2 and we loved it! Now my kids are 8 and 5 so we don't use it because it's too big to take for only one kid. My 5 year old still begs to get in a stroller but obviously the 8 year old is too big. But we absolutely loved it. It attaches to a bike too with an little attachment which was very nice. It has been to Disney and all over and is very easy to maneuver considering its size. I love Joovy!

  20. My boys are past stroller age, but I remember it as though it were an hour ago, and I just must compliment you on your review of these strollers. You are so thorough and touched on all the points a mom in the market for one would be thinking about. Your writing style is always top-notch, no matter what subject you cover. Great pictures, too. Love your family's colorful, cheerful style!:)

  21. My littles are beyond the stroller age now. But oh how I wish they still were! The cheery yellow color is fab. Non stroller related here...can you share the brand of jeans you are sporting in the pictures? I have been on a forever quest to find the perfect rolled up jeans. They are either too long or too short and your pair with the ripped knee appear to be the perfect length. Thanks!
