Friday Favorites: Day Designer and Go Shout Love Edition!

I came across Go Shout Love this week on Instagram via one of their featured families who I follow and I fell in LOVE with their mission and vision.  Shopping with a purpose is my FAVORITE.

They pick a nominated family who has a child suffering from a rare illness and they spend an entire month celebrating them and SHOUTING love for them.  It's awesome.  They design t-shirts based on each family and then the proceeds of those sales go to the families themselves.  So cool, right?

Well, this month, their featured family is Addie and the shirt they designed for her is so special!

"Addie has spent most of her life in the hospital and her family has had to adjust to spending all of their time within the hospital walls. They choose to make the best of each and every day and to celebrate each moment. Home to them is wherever their sweet Addie is."

I can't wait to support more families through Go Shout Love and make some noise for them :)

Earlier this week Crystal sent Griffin the sweetest pair of seersucker pj pants and as soon as I put them on her she looked like she was 15.  Maybe it was the ponytail.  Maybe it was the pants.  Or maybe it was her looking at Pinterest on my phone.  Regardless, she looked WAY too big!

Say CHEEEEEEEEESE!!!

I was snapping a few pics of G when her brothers ran in and this happened...

SQUEAL!!!!  SO SO SO SWEET!!!

Brothers are this girly's FAVORITE!

On Monday I blogged about our weekend and shared how much fun we had at Amy Jo's wedding.  This picture was on Facebook later in the week and is definitely my FAVORITE from the night.  Can you spot my crazy crew??? :)

Next up, it's no secret that fun paper products are one of my FAVORITES. In fact, stationary MAY just be my love language ;)

And one of my FAVORITE parts of the day?  A few stolen, quiet minutes to check things off my lists, jot down tasks for the next day and get my thoughts in order (and yes.... there is often a little piece of cake involved as well)

When Whitney English got in touch with me about trying out her new Day Designer I jumped on the chance.

Right off the bat I was in love with the cover.  The stripes are crisp, the cover is insanely well made and the coil binding is heavy duty.  I cart my paper planner around with me like it's pre iPhone times and it needs to be able to hold up to being in and out of my bag on the regular.

The cover is "shiny" and even after a week or so of using it there's not a dent, ding or scratch on it.  Awesome!

It has the monthly page spread that I need...

... and the paper is unbelievably thick.  It's almost like cardstock!  #amen

The weeks run Monday through Sunday (so the weekend days stay together) and I LOVE this little feature!

I am DETERMINED to memorize more scripture and I've written my verse of the month here so I see it all the time and can work on committing it to memory.

I like lots and lots and lots of space to write and the Day Designer delivers.  Each day gets its own page (the weekend days share a page).

The tabs are nice and thick and just LOOK at the paper.  Swoon!

I love every. single. thing. about the Day Designer.  The ONLY thing I wish I could add would be a little pocket inside the cover to hold papers and cards and etc.

Next up, my FAVORITE part of the day... reunited and it feels so good :)
Griffin is SUCH a mama's girl and we need lots of snuggling after school... and it starts the very minute she's out of the car.

LOTS of you commented on my wedges I was wearing in my video in yesterday's post and I think they're my current FAVORITES.

They're by UGG and are so so so comfy!

I wish I had ordered them half a size smaller, but the color is sold out and I LOVE them, so I'm going to make them work :)  I normally wear a 6.5 or 7 and picked these up on major sale in a 7 (the only size they had), so I think they run a tad bit big.

Y'all will be seeing lots of these this Spring and summer!
(and yes.... I'm wearing the wedges with old vigoss jeans and my FAVORITE shirt!)

This little man's FAVORITES this week?  Benadryl after school (poor poor seasonal allergies!), with blankets, and bananas :)  And yes... our Saranoni blanket is just as soft as the day we got it!  I'm considering grabbing one of their family size ones for all of our summer snuggling :)

These two are B.A.N.A.N.A.S ;)

Last on the list, two of my very FAVORITE people showed up at school on Monday!  Todd and Keith hired me 10 years ago and even though they're both at a school in Georgia now some of my fondest MCA memories involve Keith and Todd.  PLUS, Todd had triplets when I was in college and I spent countless hours at their house helping them out.... and those teeny tiny 2-lb preemies are about to be in the SEVENTH GRADE!!!  How did that even happen?!?!?!  IT was so much fun seeing them this week.  My mom worked with both Todd and Keith for YEARS and so we snapped a selfie to send to her at work :)

Well... that was a jam packed post :)  I hope y'all hung in there and made it all the way to the end!  Thanks for reading, happy linking and have a GREAT weekend, friends!!!

PS - Thank you so much to Day Designer for sending me a planner to check out.  I wasn't paid to review their product and all opinions are my own :)  Also... this post contains affiliate links, which means if you click on a product and purchase it, I may receive a small commission.  THANK YOU!

    1. Thank you!!! it's not a color I wear often, so I thought it would be a fun way to incorporate it into my outfits on a small scale :)

  6. This may be a dumb question but...do you use a simplified planner or a day designer regularly? I have seen your posts about the simplified planner and they inspired me to get one in August! But is there ssomething wrong with it that made you change? They both are pretty expensive and I'm nervous to buy either if they are both missing something that causes you to have to use two planners or switch half way through the year. I'm a teacher as well and want one that functions for work and school. Thanks!

    1. Hey! Not a dumb question at all :) I love the Simplified Planner but decided to review this one and now that I've had a chance to compare, I feel like it has a few additional features (THICK paper on the monthly pages, more durable "shiny cover", etc.) that I really like. I was happy to continue using my SP, but am always open to trying out and sharing new options. Thanks so much for reading!

  16. LOVE those wedges....too bad I am so tall & can't wear wedges that high
I am 5'9, so those wedges would make me over 6 feet tall. #tallgirlproblems
I am like you....all about the planners. I have used Erin Condren & Emily Ley, haven't checked out the one you have yet, but it looks great!
    Have a great Friday!
