Weekend Wrap-Up: It was pretty much Spring edition

Happy Monday, Friends!!!  This weekend was AWESOME!  And this week is going to be fabulous.  Last week was rough - nothing major - just some emotionally trying things at school, attempting to finally get caught up with grading after being super sick and then pretty much everyone in our house was crazy congested and not sleeping fantastic.  Sounds fun, right??? :)  hahaha

This week is going to be great though because 1) Gorgeous weather 2) Girls night 3) Valentine's Day 4) Luke and I have a four day weekend (yes.... four days! WOO HOO!!!)

Friday I kept things casual and crazy comfy in my Ashley Striped hoodie from Evy's Tree.  LOVE!!!

After school Luke and I ran a couple of errands including picking up a birthday present for his buddy, Pippin.  LORD HELP ME picking out Legos for his friend was excruciating. hahaha  We looked at every set multiple times before finally settling :)  And then we spent some major time checking out this fireman Lego.  So cool!!!

Luke went to his party and the Littles and I hung out in my room for a while - making faces, reading books and watching Sofia the First :)

Griffin isn't talking yet, but I love how expressive her little face is!

YAY for Friday!!!

While G and I were snapping selfies, Mason and Jack Bauer were having a moment :)

Saturday morning Dave took all three kids to the Home Depot workshop while I cleared out some toys, ran the vacuum and worked on some Slightly Askew projects.

My CRAZY friendly kids with the HD Workshop coordinator :) hahaha

They had so much fun building Valentines Day boxes!

Dave had to run up to work, so they took a few spins on the dance floor and then played hide and seek :)

After lunch, Luke fell asleep reading books in his bed and G was napping as well - so Mason and I had some one-on-one time painting his Valentines box...

Mason loves to paint!

And he makes the best "painting faces" :)

After everyone was up and dressed, my mom came by and we took the kids and Jack Bauer to the park at MCA to play...

Hahahahaha! Miss Independent!

We ended the trip with some hill-rolling.  Nothing like getting covered in grass before getting back in the car :) hahaha

Yesterday morning we attempted our weekly Sunday pic and as usual, my attempts were futile...

Try not to be too excited, Mason!

Goodness - the eyeroll!

The weather was GORGEOUS this weekend (in the 70s!) and we made the most of it and got outside A LOT!  The boys played in the sandbox, we cleaned out the van and attempted to clean up the yard a bit.

My uncle actually built this digger, put it on a semi truck in Canada and shipped it directly to us!  SO FUN!!!

These crazies played on the trampoline...

G woke up from her nap in a "mood"...

So Luke and Mason decided to get her a "little snack" to help her feel better. :)

I mean.... does it really get any better than this?!?!?!

 G's scrunchy smile KILLS me!!!

THIS LOOK KILLS ME!!! hahaha :)

Last night we had dinner with the Shulls and it was the best!  I mean, it's February and we ate on the patio and the kids ran around in shorts and t-shirts!!!  CRAZY!

Several things...
1) G's hands on her knees
2) Kensington's posing :)
3) Mason looking at Ashly

I mean, what's the best way to end a fabulous weekend??? With fabulous friends!

Enjoy your Monday!!!  And Happy Valentine's Week! I have MAJORLY slacked, but have some plans up my sleeve for this week! :)

    1. I have a love/hate relationship with G getting bigger... I feel like she gets cuter every day... but I also hate how she's losing the "baby" look. BOO for kiddos growing up!!!

  11. Random question: Do you always have your kids paint their Home Depot project at home to prevent the mess in the car or having to wait for it to dry in the store? I also took my kids to the Home Depot for their Kids project this weekend but stressed out over how to get it home after painting the boxes in the store! lol. Do your kids throw a fit about having to "wait" to finish it?

    1. Hey! That is actually a really GREAT question that I've never thought to address. THANK YOU! I have no qualms about letting my kids get messy - but with washable paint. The workshops that we attend always use acrylic paint which doesn't come out of clothes so we always paint at home with washable paint. I think that we've just always done it this way so my kids don't have an issue with it. Hope that helps! :)

    2. We used a paper plate for the bottom and another for the top and then put the project in a plastic bag (knotted tight). Our Home Depot had the plates for the kids to place their project on & paint...that seemed to work :)

  14. i always love your weekend wrap up posts! We are huuuuge Lego fans over here and finally took a trip to Legoland. If Luke thought the Lego fireman was cool he'd go nuts at Legoland. Not sure if there's one close to you, but we had a blast! Have a great week :)
