Five on Friday: Birthday Week

Happy Friday!!!  Not sure about y'all.... but Birthday Week has worn me out.  Looking through old pictures, remembering sweet with my kiddos as newborns and (let's be honest) bawling my eyes out a couple of times is exhausting.  Party tomorrow and then none of my babies have to get any bigger until next April :)

1) Gwippin

If you follow me on Instagram (andrea2220) then you are probably familiar with my "Gwippin" posts highlighting the "unique" relationship between Mason and "Gwippin".  It's taken Mason a LOOOOOOONG time to warm up to his little sister, and on the eve of her first birthday (his third birthday!) I asked him to give her a kiss and unprompted he goes, "Love you, Gwippin!"

My heart about exploded and I bawled a little bit more.  It only took 364 days... but it was worth the wait!  Can't wait to see their friendship develop this coming year.

2) Masons Third Birthday

Mason's Third Birthday was on Wednesday and this kid HATED all the extra attention (hahahaha) NOT!!!

He sported his birthday shirt and worked on holding up three fingers... which apparently is quite the task.

He picked "birthday donuts" instead of cake.... and I totally approved of his choice.  Mason pretty much always does his own thing and I hope that this tradition sticks.

I may have been having an emotional moment on Wednesday night when he came up to me and told me he was going to "Cheer me on"  (that's Mason speak for cheer me up).  He grabbed my face and gave me a giant kiss.  Just what the doctor ordered.

3) Griffin's 1st Birthday

The boys, Dave and I serenaded G in her crib this morning to a horrible rendition of  "Happy Birthday" and then she say still for this one pic before I headed off to school.

After school we were ready to eat pizza and celebrate some birthdays with Gibi and Haha!

If she has to get big... at least she can look stinkin' adorable while doing it!

We ate pizza and brownies and G entertained us with some epic peek-a-boo...

4) Luke's Week

Exciting things going on in Luke's little world this week as well! The eggs that Mrs. Boese has been incubating for the past three weeks HATCHED on Monday!  We've been making daily visits to snuggle those sweet little babies. 

and today Luke got to bring his class down to the middle school science room to check them out!

Today was also Luke's egg hunt.  And yes... that's Luke and his bestie Lincoln holding hands :) hehehe

5) What I Wore

Here are a few outfits I wore this week...

Saturday G and I ran errands and I wore a Matilda Jane cardigan, the best jeans ever and my favorite Minnetonka moccasins. 

Griffin liked her Matilda Jane outfit and Jameson Monroe headband as well :) hehehe

Monday I wore tights with my Toms wedges for the first time and I think I liked it! I added a heavier scarf and denim jacket since it was CHILLY!!!

Tuesday was a mustard sweater with Hippie Chick scarf...

... and a winter coat!  It was FREEZING!!!

Wednesday I wore my favorite military jacket (CHECK OUT THE BACK!!!)

and I wore my Farmgirl Paints cuff. LOVE!!!

Yesterday I wore my favorite Gap drapey maxi dress (YES! It has pockets!!!.... I just ordered the stripe as well I love this one so much!)

and I paired it with THIS white denim jacket.  Y'all... this jacket is AMAZING!!!! I'm wearing the small and have plenty of room and it still feels "fitted".  It's awesome because I can wear it to work and it's a little more "professional" than it's traditional denim counterpart.  Ladies - I promise - you'd wear this ALL THE TIME!

My scarf is by Just Dawnelle on Etsy and I'm loving the pattern mixing!
