Mommy/Mason Day - Spring 2014

Early last week when I found out several of my girlfriends were planning a trip to the Dallas Zoo on Friday... and that it was going to be 70+ degrees AND that I still had several personal days left this year I decided to take the day off and spend some one-on-one time with Mason. :)

I feel like my parents, Dave and I often do things (movies, the museum, etc) with JUST Luke and Mason doesn't get lots of individual time.  He was soooooooo excited for a special day and I was beyond thrilled to spend the day with him :)

The boys were cracking me up checking out their maps...

Too.  Much.  Cuteness.

Our crazy bunch :)
The zoo was crowded, but when you consider that our group had 13 kids and 8 mamas we weren't really in any position to judge. hahaha

By FAR Mason's favorite part was feeding the giraffes.  I loved how close you could get! It was awesome.

Look at Mason's face.... hahaha.

There was a fun little "river" where the kids could wade and splash and got WAY wetter than we had hoped they would. :)

Pretty girlies!!!

We finished up in the water and took our wet clothes over the the sawdust-filled goat pen :)
This picture makes me laugh every. single. time.  That goats face cracks me up!

Oh, Narci! hehehe

Jeni - I can't believe how big your sweet girl is!!!

... and wasn't this like last week?!?!?!

The kiddos took a few turns on the slide and then it was time to pack up and head home.

We had so much fun with our friends and Mason looked like this...
... before we even left the parking lot :)

We got home and I hung out in the van for about 45 minutes while Mason napped and then he was up and wanting to "drive" :)

He and I snuggled and watched a couple episodes of Paw Patrol and then it was on to his new favorite activity.  Washing the dishes.  #awesome

Dave picked up Luke and Griffin and dropped them off at home before heading back to work and I got our Friday night tradition of "brinner" ready.

Griffin was COVERED in syrup and I gave the boys instructions to stay on my bed and watch their movie while I bathed her really quick.

I walked into my room after the bath and Luke had drawn his name in "block letters".  It was hard to be too upset since I was busy being impressed with his lettering.... and the "heart" and portrait of me that he drew on his arms as well :)

Mason ended his special day by pouring an ENTIRE cup of chocolate milk on my bed.  The perfect ending to a day devoted to him. hahaha

It was so nice to get to spend the day with great friends and get some quality time in with my sweet middle.  He wanted to hold my hand pretty much the entire day and when I tucked him in that night he looked me right in my eyes and told me "fanks" for taking JUST him to the zoo.  Totally worth it.
