A WINNER and a recap! :)

Before we get to my IG pics from the past week... big shout out to my first ever contest winner AMY HLAVATY!!!

This is super fun because Amy and I used to teach together and she has an ADORABLE little girl, Shea, who I know will ROCK some Sweet T headbands! CONGRATS, Amy!!!

First, let me start off by saying that this week was a total doozy (yes... I know I'm probably the only weirdo that uses that word.  I'm cool with that).  I'm not sure I've been this emotionally exhausted, maybe ever.

Monday started off slow... this is Luke, asleep on his uniform, about 10 minutes after being given his "final warning" to get dressed :)

Griffin sported her super cute Mustard Pie ensemble...

... and I managed to keep my hair down ALL DAY which is a small miracle considering it's usually pulled up by 10 a.m. :)

The boys have been soaking up some cooler temperatures this week as well...

Griffin is OFFICIALLY an unswaddled sleeper 100% of the time.  I was hesitant to bite the bullet, but Dave made the call when he was home on Monday and we haven't turned back.  She's so big!!!

Tuesday I had a major black/brown moment...

... and I posted this lost pic from the weekend :)

Wednesday afternoon Mason proceeded to dump an entire cup of ice water in the backseat of the van and I was super upset and then he gave me these...

Griffin and Luke LOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE each other.  Like L.O.V.E love :)  But we did have our first hair-pulling on Wednesday:

If you think I'm crazy about Halloween outfits just WAIT until I start pulling out the Christmas :)

Thursday morning started off like almost every other morning this week... Mason wanting to wear his "ketchup" shirt :)

Thursday morning was tough.  Our niece was stillborn on Tuesday night and we attended her graveside service Thursday morning.  Caroline Kate was deeply loved by out entire family and as hard as it was to say goodbye to her,  we have the confidence in knowing we'll get to see and hold her one day in Heaven.

Thursday afternoon Dave and I met Haha on the square to try out the new Mellow Mushroom.  The weather was PERFECTION!

IT totally lived up to the hype and did not disappoint.

Thursday afternoon I got in a much needed dose of Happy in the form of Griffin Joy :)

After Mellow Mushroom we stopped into a store and picked up this Love you More pillow.  I've seen ones similar to it that say "to the moon and back", but I really want to find one that says "Love you the Most".  I'm officially on the hunt.

Thursday night Mason was playing his FAVORITE game with me... tea towel monster! :)

Friday morning Luke's teacher texted me this pic :)

And after school we met up with some of my sweet 7th graders...

when I got home on Friday one of my very favorite (former) students had posted this cute pic of her and Mason (at the Jog-A-Thon) on her Instagram.  LOVE that my "school kiddos" love my "real kiddos" so much!

Part of dinner on Friday night was a bagel with Nutella...

And after our "nutritious" (hahaha) dinner, Haha came over and he and Luke worked on some checkers strategy.

Saturday I had no intention of getting out of my pjs and I didn't! My kind of day :)

The boys played outside (by dumping sand everywhere)...

... and Griffin took a GREAT morning nap.

Her eyelashes (and little profile) make me DIE every time :)

During lunch I heard lots of "he's kicking me!!!"

And again with the ketchup shirt.  He cries when it's in the wash and literally asks for it every. single. day.

Griffin ended up changing out of her jammies due to an unfortunate spit up incident, but only for a few hours:

Then it was back in PJS.  Apparently the leg raise helps her balance :)

I tucked Mason into bed, read him a book, kissed him night night and then went to watch Monster's Inc. with Luke.  A few minutes later Mason appears with his hands covering his eyes.  When I told him to go back to his room he goes, "How you see me mommy??? I hidin'!!!"

Dave worked ALLLLLLLLLLLLL weekend this weekend (like 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 p.m. on Saturday and 9:00 a.m - 5:00 p.m. today!), but thankfully he was home to help me get everyone ready and packed and loaded for Church.  Griffin was up for taking pics with me... the boys were off in the corner probably wrestling and messing up their freshly-combed hair :)

Every other Sunday Shay and I teach 3-year old Sunday school together and her sweet Smith is in our class.  Could he be ANY cuter?!?!?! :)

At church we ran into our very favorite set of brothers... Mason and Garrett Lee.  Garrett walks luke to class EVERY day and we loooooooooooooove him!

If a holein your pants is evidence of a good time then Luke had a BLAST at Sunday school this morning.

I am LOOOOOOOOOOVING all of the new pieces in the Matilda Jane Paint By Numbers collection this fall.  This lap dress with the sash is TDF!!!

This afternoon I multitasked... eating lunch, working on Slightly Askew projects and watching Hoosiers all while the kiddos napped.

I debated going to small group tonight in my jammies (especially after learning that the Shull kids would be!!!), but DAve made me put on "real clothes" and I'm kind of glad I did because the seemingly odd combo I put on seemed to work!  I don't have a problem with trying out new things and this time I think I found an outfit I'll wear again!  #success

The week ended in the most perfect way... small group!  Our group has been together since before we had kids and to say it's changed A LOT over the last 5 years would be a total understatement.  I love each and every one of these kids and their parents and can't wait to see these sweeties grow up!  Wasn't it just like last week that Luke was a newborn and I was serving y'all pasta after telling you to bring pizza to my house, Shay?!?!?! :)

Last, but definitely not least I posted this picture earlier in the week because I am GRATEFUL to be BLESSED with a fabulous group of girlfriends.  I needed them this week and they were beyond there for me.  I can only hope that I get to return the favor many many many times over the years :)

Fingers crossed that this week is a little "less eventful" (sometimes boring is perfectly fine!).  I plan on hugging on my kiddos a lot, catching up on some school stuff and getting a handle on Slightly Askew projects that I had to put on hold last week.  Be sure to leave me a link so I can check out your weekly recap! (feel absolutely free to steal my graphic!!! - hahaha)

  5. I'll be praying for your family as your relatives grieve the loss of your niece - I know that emotion and grief all too well. If you are interested, tomorrow is Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance day and folks are encouraged to light a candle at 7pm to remember the babies who are in heaven. I hope you have a great week! :-)
