Luke's Playhouse

Luke would play outside ALL day if we'd let him. His new favorite outside activity is playing in his playhouse.
(When you're looking at these pictures, imagine some really cute impatients in the pots below the windows - Dave thought they were dead (they were just thirsty) and decided to rip them out.  hahaha)

He plays restaurant, car repair shop, car dealership and toy store :)

Birds like his house too - there's a nest above the door.

My Boys Rooms

It's been a while since I've taken pictures of my boys rooms - so I thought I'd link up with Kelly's Korner and show my boys rooms.

This is Luke's room - there isn't necessarily a theme - unless toys and books are a theme :)

And here is Mason's room (weird lighting when I took the pics - SORRY!)

I LOVE LOVE LOVED the color in Luke's room so Mason's room is the same color...

Probably my very favorite thing in his room are the paintings in the white frames... Luke painted those for his baby brother before he was born :)

Mason's room is significantly smaller than Luke's - but when Mason makes it into a big boy bed our plan is to move him into Luke's room as well (two twin beds, bunk beds, we're not sure).  This room will probably become their own little "boy cave" with a TV, train table, etc.  A place where they can hang out with friends or be when we have people over.

So there you have it! No big themes, just fun, colorful and practical! :)

Here's a link to our kitchen in case you're curious.

Clothespin Airplanes

It's no secret that I love me some crafts.  So it's kind of discouraging when I come up with these AWESOME craft ideas (like the Easter egg banner, handprint card for daddy, etc.) that Luke has absolutely no interest in.  So when I came across this idea on Pinterest for clothespin airplanes I thought I'd give it a try:

Luke colored the clothespins and popsicle sticks and then VOILA! Instant airplane.  It was quick and easy and the end product was a vehicle - PERFECT!

He made 15 and has asked me about 100 times to make more.  I'd consider that a craft success :)

New Neighbors

The Smiths just moved into the neighborhood (well, kind of - close enough), and we were lucky enough to be their first official dinner guests :)  After dinner we headed out to the backyard to let the kiddos play - prepare for TONS of pictures.  I tried to edit them down, but in each one I thought someone's expression was cute.  So I just posted them all.

Masons face in the picture below cracks me up :)

We tried to put Mason and Maggie on the teeter totter to get a picture of them together, but Mason got kind of freaked out...

We tried to get a group picture, but Mason wasn't too sure about being on the wall.  I've mentioned before that he can be mildly dramatic - here's some photographic proof:

We tried to get Luke to hold onto Mason (so he wouldn't fall off), but Mason didn't want Luke to hold him.  Oh, drama.

Look how SWEET!!!!

Look at how Mason and Maggie are staring at each other :)

Mason still isn't walking and he wasn't the biggest fan of crawling in the grass.  Again with the drama.

He kept doing these weird "yoga poses" trying to keep as many limbs out of the grass as possible.

Even his hands in the next pictures are dramatic.  Really, Mason?!?! IT's GRASS!

Thanks so much for having us, Smiths! Dinner was delicious, dessert was AWESOME and the company was great. We're so glad that you're in the neighborhood :)
