After Nap

I have a condition that my family lovingly refers to as "after nap".  Which pretty much means that I'm a grouch for a good 40 minutes after waking up from a nap.  Sometimes I have to weigh having a great nap with knowing that I'm going to feel like poo afterward and decide from there.  It's kind of pathetic.  Luke has inherited "after nap" from me - he can be a BEAST when he wakes up from a nap and he typically needs a snack, drink and to be left alone for 30 minutes.  Mason West, on the other hand, is just like his Daddy - he wakes up rested, cheerful and ready to go!

"Hey, Mom! What are we up to now?!?!?!"

"Check out my awesome cheese face, lady!"
(Yes, we have a serious ham on our hands)

The little gap between his front teeth gets my every time - cutest gap EVER!

Then the jabbering starts - and pretty much doesn't stop until it's time for the next nap.

Mason will typically wake up around 7:00 a.m., eat breakfast and play and then go back down for his morning hap at 9:00.  If we're staying at home he'll sleep until 11:00 or so, but most mornings I wake him up around 10:00 so we can head out and get to wherever it is we're going that day.  He's usually down again around 1:30 and has been sleeping most days until after 4:00.  If he sleeps past 4:00 he's usually up until 7:00 bedtime, but if his afternoon nap gets cut short for whatever reason he still has a hard time making it until 7:00 and he'll take a little cat nap from 5:00 - 6:00.

I hope that Mason never develops "after nap" because I'll forever miss seeing this face every time I go in to get him :)  LOVE that crazy boy!

  1. I have the SAME 'after nap' problem. And I have to weigh my options too!
