Misc.

Me and my TWO boys snuggled up and watching CARS...

Seriously... How on earth is my belly "measuring small?!?!?!" hahaha

Typical trip to WalMart... Arms full of cars, mommy's sunglasses, finger in the nose. ;)

No more booster seat!!!

Front Loop rainbow art project... Luke insisted that clouds go in the sky, NOT at the bottom of the rainbow like mommy suggested.

Big Helper

We've been in the process of our annual yard clean-up, which typically involves raking and bagging about 4,500 bags of leaves. We LOVE having a shaded yard with lots of trees, the downside is that the leaves NEVER END! hahaha
Thankfully we're working on having our very own little lawncare crew and hope that Luke and Mason will be big helps in this department as they get older. :) hehehe Luke's favorite job is helping daddy squish all the leaves down into the bags...

I think that this could be an Ace Hardware ad :)
Dave will hold onto Luke and then Luke jumps like crazy to squish all the leaves

When the leaf squishing is done, Luke goes back to what you can normally find him doing... getting dirty and playing with trucks.

Kensington and "Smiff"

Over Spring Break Kensington and Smith (or "Smiff" as Luke calls him) came over to play. I didn't get any pictures of them playing, but here are a couple of them hanging out before everyone went home for lunch...
... and yes, I took 12 and these were the best two. hahaha :)

Puff Puff

When Dave was little (he says around 2), he got this little stuffed dog and named it "Puff Puff". We'd had it up on a shelf in the nursery for a while, but over Spring Break during my nursery cleaning spree Luke requested that he have it down. He's never been attached to a stuffed animal (he has an elephant that is typically in his bed, but he doesn't HAVE to have it, and he's never really taken it out of bed). Anyway, I told him that Puff Puff was very special becuase it was Daddy's when he was a little boy and there has been an instant attachment ever since... Puff Puff gets snuggled every nap and bedtime and has actually been taken on several trips in the car.
It's crazy to think that this little dog was snuggled up with Dave 25 years ago and is on snuggle duty again!

MIA

Let me just preface this post with the statement, "I hate feet". I don't like looking at or touching or thinking about them. That said, since this may be my last pregnancy I want to remember the details and right now this...

... Is one of those details. My ankle bones have been MIA for a while now and I'm just praying that what everyone says is true and that they'll be back once Mason arrives.

I'm trying to keep them up as much and as often as I can (including keeping them propped up on a folding chair during my lunch break), but they're usually purplish and itchy by the time I leave school every day. I refuse to "expose" my cankels and puffy calves (ironic, I know, since I just posted pics on the Internet for the world to see), and therefore have been left with a wardrobe consisting of about 7 maxi dresses and 2 pairs of pants (I can only fit my feet into flip flops, so all of my dressier maternity pants are no longer options).

I definitely don't want this to come across as whiney or complaining - because I am so beyond grateful for the little person causing this unsightly and painful problem - but really just wanted to document this for memories sake. ;)

Texted Photos

My mom and Dave are always texting me photos and so I thought I'd share a few of my favorites from the last few weeks...

Dave sent this to me this morning to show me what Luke had on for school. Most mornings Luke is still asleep when I head out the door and so Dave is 100% in charge of getting him ready ;)

My mom sent this picture to me yesterday - Luke (on his own) turned his sandwich and cheetohs into Lightning McQueen (the cheese balls are the wheels). This creative mama was super proud of his left-brained moment ;)

Ice cream sundae after preschool.

Playing at Gibis house (no wonder he loves going there!!!)

Making a smoothie at Gibis house

Mom gave him a bucket to wash his cars in... Next thing she knew he has his pants off and was taking an impromptu bath.

Playing in Gibis button box

Cars and sand... His two favorite things ;)

Scooter came along to pick him up from school...

Creative Juices

Luke and I let our creative juices flow during Spring Break and we came up with some fun little projects. He spent A LOT of time coloring race cars (I'll have to take a picture of one of his pictures) and sticking stickers and so I decided why not let our little artist make some art for his baby brother's room. I had the frames from IKEA already and so I picked up two pieces of scrapbook paper from Hobby Lobby (about $0.50/ea) and a bottle of white acrylic paint ($0.65) and let him go to town (shirtless, of course!) He decided to paint his own hand...
... and worked very intently on his art for Mason. The finished products turned out adorable and can be seen in my previous post about Mason's nursery.
While Luke was napping I went through my bins of scrap fabric and made some onesies and burp cloths. (After getting ALL of the stains out of Luke's cloth diaper burp cloths earlier I was left with TONS of plain ones)
Like I said, just a "few". hahaha

35 Weeks - Mason's Nursery

I went for my 35-week checkup yesterday and everything is on track for Mason to make his arrival on April 18th. I'm 1 cm dilated and the results of the ultrasound from 2 weeks ago show him being in about the 25th percentile for his size at the moment. I'll be interested to see how accurate that is when he's born.
He's moving a TON right now which we are seriously enjoying - it's so fun to watch him move at night and since he's taking up more and more space he's "jutting out" more and his movements are becoming much more visible.
I'm still swelling pretty bad and am starting to have trouble sleeping - so I'm hoping that these next four weeks FLY by! :) hahahaha
In other news, Mason's nursery is almost complete (I need to do some kind of window treatment and then refinish and hang his mirror above the changing table). Here's the view standing in the door looking in (without a flash)... ... and here it is with a flash (the paint is not really this bright)
The art in the frame below (and above the armoire) was done by artist and big brother, Luke. The one in the picture below is "Luke and Mason and Mack the truck from Cars" :)
Pretend that the mirror has a fresh coat of paint, that it's up on the wall and that it has some cute little things hanging from the hooks :)

This can't be safe...

On Friday night Dave went in to check on Luke and immediate came rushing out of his room telling me to "grab the camera and come quick". We're totally used to seeing him with ALL of his covers thrown off, or laying at the opposite end of his bed, or buried beneath a pile of stuffed animals, but when I saw him with his little face wedged perfectly between his pillows I thought it was hilarious (and kind of unsafe) all at the same time...
No worries, we took one of the pillows away and so hopefully this won't happen again, but I guess he was comfy!

Date with Haha

On Tuesday we headed down to the Square to meet Haha at his office and grab some lunch. We decided on Sauce on the Square and were glad we did since Luke ended up eating about as much (if not more) as Haha and I each did :) That boy loves him some pizza and pasta! While we were waiting for our check Haha and Luke decided to do some coloring... I've lamented before about Luke's lack of photo-taking skills and here's just another example:
Since we hadn't had our fill with all of the pizza aned pasta we rounded off our afternoon of Italian fare with some gelato (which, by the way, I have thought about approximately 54,000 times since Tuesday).
Luke decided that double-fisting it was the only good way to enjoy his gelato.
"Thanks for the gelato, Haha! Now kiss my chocolate-covered, sticky mess of a face!"

Beach Time

On Monday night we joined Jonathan, Tori and Lilly at "The Beach" in Fairview to play in the sand and grab some dinner at The Purple Cow. Despite the fact that it was way colder than we thought and SUPER WINDY, Luke and Lilly had a fantastic time playing together. Family resemblance much?!?!?! :)

I love this next picture because you can totally tell that Luke is making truck/boat noises with his mouth :)
The best picture of the two cousins I could get...
When it got too cold to be outside any longer (more for the adults than the kids), we headed over to The Purple Cow for dinner....

How adorable is this?!?!?! Luke and Lilly are EXACTLY three years apart (they share the same birthday) and Tori pointed out to me that in three years this is what our little family would look like (well, except for two boys, of course). Hard to believe!
