Year in Review

I LOVED Shay's post - documenting her family's year month-by-month, so I've decided to do the same. Except, try as I might I couldn't narrow my pictures down enough, so instead of 1 or 2 pictures per month... there's more like three or four. OOOPS!!!
January 2010
We started January off right with our first zoo visit of 2010. Luke has been at a FANTASTIC age for the zoo this year. We got to welcome Smith William!
Luke took a "little" spill at Gibi's house :)
February 2010
Luke was asked to be on the cover of McKinney Kids Magazine!
We took our best small group picture yet...
Luke made several new friends at a Super Bowl Party:
And we "enjoyed" record breaking snow in Dallas!
March 2010
We took Luke to see Sesame Street Live:
I traveled to Jamaica with a group of MCA students to do mission work for GAIN International:
Luke attended (and didn't want to leave) his very first MCA softball game:

Haha and I took Luke to paint the ballpark blue and we got to enjoy a STrawberry Ice :) Luke and Kensington bonded over banana pudding:
May 2010
I decided to try out my green thumb and had some success (although it was super depressing to see it all wither away come August)
Luke looked SUPER cute for Mother's Day:
We took another trip to the zoo:
And we celebrated the end of the school year by playing outside with the hose:
June 2010
We spend A LOT of time with these handsome guys (and several others) at various pools: I had some major crafty urges:
Luke took swimming lessons with his BFF Kensington:
July 2010
We hit potty training HARD using Matchbox cars as incentive:
We stayed cool in the sprinkler:
Mommy finished putting together Luke's big boy room!
We spent even MORE time with MORE great friends:

Luke met Lady Gaga for the first time:
We enjoyed some cooler weather by heading to the zoo, yet again:
October 2010
We headed to the Arboretum to take some cute pumpkin pictures We joined LOTS of friends at our BFGs annual Harvest Party:
We trick-or-treated and caught up with friends:
November 2010
Dave and I headed to The Homestead for a little R&R
We gave thanks for our "little blessings" - including a baby brother!
Luke helped cook (and enjoy) Thanksgiving Dinner:

December 2010
We tried to soak in as much Holiday fun as we could with lots of friends:
... and lots of lights...
... and lots of singing...
... lots of celebrating... ... and lots of family traditions :)
When I started this post I didn't think that this year had really included anything super exciting - how quickly we forget! This year was JAM PACKED with fun and memorable experiences and I can't wait to see what 2011 has in store for us! HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Party like it's 1998

In 1998 I was in the 8th grade and was a giggly, bubbly, silly adolescent girl. You'd think that I would have reflected on some of these memories before auctioning off a Pajama Party at my house for 10 girls during MCA's auction last spring :) hahaha
The PJ party was this past Wednesday night and was an absolute blast.

I had pizza for the girls along with brownies, ice cream and A TON of toppings to make sundaes.
I'm not sure if you can tell from the picture below, but Luke is sitting at the end of the table, lovingly staring at one of my students :) He was the CENTER of attention and LOVED every single second of it. I think that we may have a class clown on our hands, as he was loving making the girls laugh. hahaha.
After pizza, Luke decided to join the girls on the LoveSac while they watched Step Up 3.
As you can see, he's very shy :)
He "hated" having his picture taken (about a bazillion different times with various iPhones, iTouches and digital cameras)
He stayed up until about 9:30, basking in his glory moment, until I finally made him go to bed. The first thing he asked for in the morning was "I'd like all the girls to come over again, please!"
