Marks Bday

On Mark's Bday (last week) Luke made his uncle a special card: It took lots and lots and lots of crayons!

And it ended up looking like this:

After that we went to eat at Olive Garden...
and then we came back to our house to open presents and eat cake:
I LOVE this picture...

applesauce

Luke LOVES him some applesauce... and in honor of that fact, here is an outlandish number of pictures of him consuming it in various different ways...
Method 1: Upside Down Spoon Method 2: Eyes Closed

Method 3: Sans-Spoon

Method 4: Like Cadence Eats Her Food

Method 5: No Hands!

Christmas Eve

Despite the snowy weather, we bundled up on Christmas Eve and headed out to Dave's Granny's house for dinner. Luke was more interested in his cars than the meal:

Calling Santa on Granny's pink phone:
Asking Grandma for help opening a gift:

After Granny's we opted out of church, but headed back to our house to meet Gibi, Grandpa and Uncle Mark for some birthday cake. YUM!

Luke and Lilly

On Monday we headed to Anna to hang out with Jonathan, Tori and Lilly. Luke and Lilly got along really well, although I'm not sure that Luke was as cooperative as Lilly would have liked :) They played guitar, read books, and played with Barbies (clarification - Luke wanted nothing to do with the barbie dolls, but he did LOVE the barbie jeep. hahaha).

Trucks and Fixin' Stuff

Luke loves trucks. Trucks in trucks. Trucks on other trucks. Trucks under trucks. IT's trucks all day long! He also loves to help grandpa fix stuff...
oooooh.... power tools!

Funny Santa Photos

As I was rifling through my misc family photo box yesterday in search of photos of my brother, I came across these HILARIOUS Santa pictures.
First, this is Mark when he was almost 1... Santa had a few too many before he started his shift: I have no clue why I even had this second picture, but it's of my dad and the back of the photo said 1958 (which would have made you 3, right Dad?). I love how vintagey it is. I love how the reindeer heads in the background have eyelashes and are draped in pearls. I love how silly my dad looks. I'm going to frame it and put it out every Christmas.

Happy Birthday, Mark!

So my little brother is turning 23 today! In his honor, I decided to dig up some of the oldest pictures that I have of him and post them on the internet. I'm not sure why - but I had a bunch of baby pictures and not very many of the wierd-adolescent-awkward stage... dang!
Sweet tiny baby Mark :)
The only things I remember about him being born were that my dad and I spent Christmas at some old-ladies house and I got a tub-town. I also remember getting my very own "baby" and accidentally filling it with water in the bathtub and then it's eyes wouldn't open anymore. oops!

ahahahahahhhhhhhahahahah!
I was probably trying to squeeze the life out of him - the little booger stole my spotlight! :)
Happy Birthday, Uncle Mark!

Prequel

Before I show you my Christmas decorations and such, I feel compelled to have a prequel of sorts and show you my Thanksgiving decor... I almost added pictures of my Halloween stuff (since I totally forgot to post those pics back in October), but I realized that maybe the moment had passed and plus, I forgot to take a picture of my cutest stuff... so, 'til next year!
My favorite Thanksgiving decoration EVER is this handprint turkey that Luke made during Sunday School. It was his first "art" to bring home and it made me want to cry. It was on a giant piece of construction paper, so I cut it out, matted it and then decorated a frame to put it in. I packed it up with the rest of my Fall/Thanksgiving stuff and I think that it'll be fun to get out each November:

Yes, those are metallic pumpkins on my hearth... I'll explain in a second.
We didn't end up carving our pumpkins this year, and so after the 31st I had 3 perfectly good pumpkins left... so I decided to spray paint them this metallic "caramel latte" color and bring them inside. My dad made fun of them relentlessly, but I kind of grew to love my unconventional gourds :)

Mer-Boy

Please excuse the really crummy picture of Luke... it was early and I only snapped two, in the other picture his eyes were only half open - trust me, closed completely was a better look! :)
I'm not sure how well you can see it in the picture above, but a couple of mornings ago, when Dave and I went in to get Luke in the morning, he had somehow maneuvered BOTH of his legs into ONE of his pajama legs - he looked like a Mer-Boy :) haha
