39 Weeks!!!

As much as I have loved being pregnant, I am desperate for the baby to come.
We went to the doctor yesterday and were informed that I am a little more than 3 cm dilated and almost completely effaced, but that the baby must just be "too comfortable" in there because I've had no contractions or other signs of early labor.
I'm still feeling good... other than being swollen and tired (sorry girls, I slept through Bible study last night), but am more than ready to know who this person is that has been living inside of me for the past 39 weeks! Plus, if I have to hear one more person say, "you look like you're about to pop!", or "man... I can't believe you haven't had that baby yet", or my favorite, "you're huge!!!" one more time I think that I may honestly lose my mind. :)
On a completely different note, my last 2 Sid Dickens memory blocks came in yesterday and so I was able to hang my new collection (before I only had 2 and thought it would look kind of dumb to hang 2 by themselves). I think that they're really interesting and unique and hopefully the collection will continue to grow (hint, hint Dave).
Well, hopefully my next post will be announcing the arrival of Luke/Landyn... but I guess we'll just have to wait and see! :)

Spring Break

Despite my best efforts to get all of my school work prepped for my impending maternity leave over Spring Break, my creative side somehow managed to take over and has dominated a large part of my week off. I had been knitting things for the baby, but those projects tend to take a long time and it's hard to make gender-neutral sweaters :), so I decided to make use of the dozens of packages of white onesies that we received at our baby showers. After the onesie experiment, I decided to make Lilly a purse and bag for school for her upcoming birthday.
Let the creative juices flow! :)

3D Ultrasound

As the arrival of "Little" approaches even faster I thought I would post some of our 3D ultrasound pictures that we had done around 31 weeks. (8 weeks ago!)
Whenever I look at them I wonder who he/she is going to look like and where those lips came from! :)
The ultrasound technician couldn't get over how "snuggly" the baby was as it was all curled up and comfy and no matter how much we poked or prodded we couldn't get him/her to "unfurl" and show us a full face view. :) An extra cuddly baby is perfectly okay with me!
Here's an update as to "Little's" progress over the past few weeks...
At our 37 week appointment we were told that there was some concern about the size of the baby since my abdomen was measuring small (crazy!) and so we went for an additional ultrasound and it turns out that the baby has been lying completely on my left side instead of in the center of my belly which explains why I was measuring small and after taking several measurments they estimated that the baby weight about 6.5 lbs!
We went back this week for our 38 week appointment and everything was as usual ("better than textbook"). We'll go back this coming Wednesday for our 39 week appointment which, unless the baby decides to make his/her debut before then, will be our last appointment as I am scheduled to be induced either the 1st, 2nd or 3rd of April! :)
Dave and I are still having a hard time with the thought that in less than 2 weeks there will be a baby at our house... but I think we'll cope just fine. :)

Where it all began...

As many of you know, Dave and I have been together for almost 10 years... our story began in high school when we bonded through marching band and fried mozzarella sticks at Black Eyed Pea. It's fun to look back at some of these really old pictures and see where we've come from and anticipate where we're going... so I thought you might enjoy as well... just ignore the horrible bangs (believe it or not they really were in style)! :)

This picture really sums up a lot of high school for both Dave and I...
band nerd love :)

This was in 1999 after I performed at the Meyerson

I'm not sure when this was taken... we look really young though, so I'm guessing maybe 1999???
I think that this was our first official picture taken together... and what a lovely picture it is. :)

I was 15 and Dave had just got his license and my friend Erin and I had Dave drive us to the mall so that we could try on bizarre clothes (did everyone do this in high school... or was it just me and my friends???)

Countdown Continues

Well ladies and gentlemen... the countdown continues. We had our 36 week check-up this past Wednesday and were told that I was well on my way to the big day as I was dilated 2 cm and 80% effaced... surprising news since I am yet to have a single contraction (braxton-hicks or otherwise). This news sent me into frantic nesting mode as I now found myself pressed to get Luke/Landyn's room in order (which was a complete disaster thanks to our amazing baby shower last weekend), wash every baby item I own and organize my kitchen. Thankfully, I was able to get everything completed and will probably now be not only anxious but bored as well until the baby arrives. :) As many have requested, here are some pictures of the nursery, now in a complete state. The lighting is kind of wierd as I had to keep the blinds shut in order to avoid wierd shadows... but hopefully you can get the idea. There are also a couple of pictures of the gorgeous snow we had this week (I know... bizarre!), my MCA baby shower as well as my most recent "belly shot".
